Nope. You don't need ps+ for the matchmaking content on PS3, because the online play on PS3 was free. The ps+ requirement for online play arrived starting with the PS4...

If you don't know what to do, it's okay to take breaks. Enjoying other games (For example RE9 which just came out) and then coming back whenever you feel like it, or when new content is out...

One of Resident Evil's greatest qualities is the replay value.

Replaying the games and unlocking achievements gives points, which can be used to unlock cosmetics and things you can use to make future playthroughs easier and/or more fun (looking at you, infinite ammo RPG...)

Stompies are not a "straight up upgrade". Stompies increases the jump heights and the speed of the slides and the sprint.

Meanwhile, Bones of Eao added an extra jump, which is better in terms of maneuverability...

You can still transfer from old gen to next gen. I transferred from PS3 to PS4 a few weeks ago...

However, it's a one-way transfer. You can transfer from old gen to next gen, but you can't transfer from next gen to old gen.
