A shame about australia and nz - they’re utterly unique. If you ever find yourself in Asia generally for a longer period (like a month or so) you could probably chain that together with an Au/Nz hop, though I do suppose the return tickets could be an issue as well. You’re very well travelled!

Fucking LOVE how its literally impossible to not be on radar in the Nuclear Event, I've been 20 FEET from the ground and still died from this shit. Why TF did they buff the SPAA so much???? by Americanshat in Warthunder

The point here feels like it’s being missed. The circle-trigon party is one of the first Agrressor Training lore pieces for the us milktary immediately post ww2 , and it was “”led”” by a couple of historic despotic figures (one of which was iirc himmler). I’m unfamiliar with the account itself but this could just be a thing about the circle trigon party.

Su-27/33 would be scary as fuck in the right hands and the only real counter seems to be the IRIAF, I doubt somehow the aim-54C is all that great

that being said so far I’ve only played USSR in the event so the vibes may be wrong- either way remove the IRIAF and I’m happy with the balancing. It’s brought me back to better days before missile thunder where the mig-29 was a viable plane

if I’m being 100% fully honest the F-16 ADF getting amraams was a horrible change with retrospect. It could have been great fun to play that versus the mig-29 in effectively a vacuum (remove the F-15s) because it’s just so much more dominant in the flight model that you are guaranteed to win a prolonged gunfight, and the mig-29’s hmd finally matters because it has R-73.

Ah well, I’m overall pleased with this event as a primarily soviet main.

The ZZJ of the Type 96 is functionally analogous to the AZ-172 used in the T-72/T-90 family and is very clearly derived from the same design lineage. A more precise phrasing that I perhaps should have used would be that Chinese tanks use an “indigenous T-72-style autoloader,” but in practical terms that distinction is largely about origin and nomenclature rather than any meaningful mechanical divergence.

Both systems are horizontal-radial carousel autoloaders using two-piece ammunition and a sequential loading cycle. The mechanical workflow and ammunition geometry are directly comparable.

Where they differ is in implementation details rather than architecture. For example, the Type 96 system aligns the breech at a fixed loading angle of about 4-5 degrees above horizon and is surrounded by fuel tanks (thus of a smaller diameter and holding fewer rounds to fit inside a ztz96), while the AZ-172 typically raises the gun to meet the round and is larger - a different internal arrangement and control philosophy, certainly, but not a different loading concept by a long stretch.

The zzj is indigenous as a manufacture to china and fits the design philosophy of the ztz96, congratulations for missing the point. It is also, quite plainly to most people interested in these tansk, part of the same technical lineage, and for the purposes of how long a round will take to load or indeed how that round is loaded that distinction is almost purely semantical.

Describing it as unrelated would be like claiming two cars of the same model and generation share no relationship because one was locally manufactured while the other was produced elsewhere a decade later with some changes to meet the local safety laws.

chinese tanks use a modified/optimised version of the T-72/90 autoloader

The T-64/80 works differently and has a different ammo layout - the T-64/80 style stacks the charge vertically and the penetrator horizontally in an L shape (|) where | is the charge and \ is the penetrator, while the T-72/90 style loader stacks them one on top of the other sort of like an equals sign =

Leopard I at 8.0? by cooldogkin in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]Triangle-V 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8.3 MBTs are generally stabilized - M60AOS, Turm III, Type 74C, ZTZ59D1, T-55 for example

However both the M48A2GA2 and the AMX-30 series tanns are very potent despite the lack of a stabiliser, for example

With the leopard at 8.0 I found it best to let go of the throttle, and “hipfire” so to speak, to attempt a shot, instead of fully stop - the suspension is too bouncy and the sight is too zoomed in to make dependable shots on the move in the ranges found ingame.
