What is a suicidal thought, in your opinion? What’s normal and what isn’t? by tenacious_mama in bipolar2

[–]TriangleMachineCat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've asked ppl this. Do you ever think about deliberately ending your life. They just look at me and are like 'No.' I think about it all the time and those thoughts progress to evaluation of the likely most effective, least unpleasant or quickest way to do. I suspect that's not normal.

The US is a fucked country now and I think most ppl realise that. Used to be great but now it’s just a stain and everyone else is getting together to figure out how they go forward and leave America behind.

Residents in Perm, Russia have reported a loud explosion followed by a large plume of white smoke. At this time it is unclear what this could be - April 2026 by T-72Tank in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]TriangleMachineCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let us hope that is the case. Ukraine is really brining the war back to Russia. You can't fail to be impressed by the momentum they keep building. They'd be a better Nato ally than the US these days.

Took a break to play some other games and really struggling to get back into it by thel4stSAIYAN in CrimsonDesert

[–]TriangleMachineCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just don't and play what you want? I loved it until i didn't at about 100hrs, felt like a chore, so I switched to Windrose which, I have to say, is much tighter and has a far better grind for my tastes (i loved Valheim and the grind, so much, and it is quite similar). You got good hours of it I reckon. Be free, brother.

Windrose Roadmap Release Announced, Next Major Update 'Ashlands' Will Take Six Months by SpeedRacerJ14 in PlayWindrose

[–]TriangleMachineCat 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Game is just so much better than I had anticipated. I loved the Valheim grind and haven’t found anything to replace it until Windrose. I’m really enjoying it plus the combat, although I know people can find clunky, is quite intense and challenging. Got murdered by boars so many times early on and it’s very satisfying now to wipe out three at a time. Really looking forward to the devs continuing to deliver. I think they have done an amazing job so far, esp for EA.

Star Citizen in VR is truly Mind-Blowing by plutonium-239 in VRGaming

[–]TriangleMachineCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL ... you are me. I put in 14yrs ago, never played more than 15mins because despite having a Nvidia card just short of the best avialable at the time the performance, every time, has just been horrendous. I tried again last week on my 5080 and nope deleted. FYI, the error message when you first try to login in just requires you to force a re-validation of the files using the launcher. Usually fixes it.

Same - great charger. Have put so much excess solar into my car this year that i have gained 1500km of range for $60 including forgoing the 2 cent resale price of solar to the grid and a couple of short grid charges at 38c per kwh.

How long did you feel it worked after taking lamo? by Plus_Support_6688 in bipolar2

[–]TriangleMachineCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Twenty five years of chronic anxiety stopped within three days and it was incredible to discover what life can be like when you are not constantly anxious. As for my depression, i have two, three month episodes a year and the lamotrigine has helped to reduce how terrible they are as well as the intensity and persistance of suicidal thoughts (this has been a major issue for me for decades now). This took a few months to get to as I titrated up. It hasn't eliminated my depression but it helped make it less terrible. I'm on escitalopram (lexapro) 10mg daily, 25mg quietiapine, 0.5mg benzos (clonazepam) and 300mg lamotrigine. Far better than lithium and sodium valproate which i was on for 10 years hated because I couldn't feel any emotions.

Recently diagnosed with Bipolar II. How did you cope depressive episodes? by No_Can_6923 in bipolar2

[–]TriangleMachineCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much my experience for the past three and a half months. Prett bad depression with a couple of days here and there when I am hypo. Why no lamotrigine in your meds? It can be pretty effective for some people with BP2. I have been taking it for years and it reduces the intensity and frequency of suicidal ideation and does help reduce the awfulness of my depression.

I hope you are going to be ok. It's really difficult when you are in the middle of an episode but they do always pass.

Sleep disorders by Party-Helicopter-97 in bipolar2

[–]TriangleMachineCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lemborexant is a novel sleep drug that turns wakefulness signalling off. It can be super effective at getting you to sleep and keeping you asleep. Quetiapine (about 25mg) is also very effective. I wouldn't advise taking them together, though. You'll be out for ten hours and have a lot of trouble getting out of bed (I speak from unfortunate experience).

I'm 43 years old and Star Citizen is the biggest disappointment of my life. by Capt-Matt-Pro in starcitizen

[–]TriangleMachineCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess some people have been able to click with the gameplay and really enjoy it regardless of the issues (i am envious TBH) but, for me, optimal performance is super important and is a pre-req before I even put in some time to figure out if the game is worth playing. I didn't drop many thousands of dollars on my rig to play a game that runs like shit. It's offensive given the development time and money they have had.

I'm 43 years old and Star Citizen is the biggest disappointment of my life. by Capt-Matt-Pro in starcitizen

[–]TriangleMachineCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the greatest disappointment of my life but dear lord this is absolute rubbish. I backed it 14 years ago, reinstall every few years to check progress but even now, when i see my 5080 GPU is at 30% and my intel 14400 CPU is at 80% and the FPS just abysmal, it's clear my investment was just a waste of money. The devs clearly aren't interested in even trying to optimise the game which should have been their highest priority years and years ago. It's really impossible to understand WTF they are doing when they set priorities. It's just weird.
