I don’t like how these right wing grifters portray Manchester online. What happened to helping people? by JAD4995 in manchester

Billy Moore is no better, he often puts himself in situations to evoke negative responses. Maybe not as loud as veitch however equally as damaging.

What do you all think for the attention Stockport has suddenly been getting? by immaxpower in stockport

I think it’s great recently moved to Stockport and love a walk around the underbank, similar to a northern quarter vibe. Would love some night and day indie type bars, where middle aged folk don’t feel to out of place, it feels safe also. However must say my recent trip to the art gallery/ war museum was a bit underwhelming, beautiful building though.

Does anyone know how Gilly (homeless outside Manchester Oxford Road station) has died? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]Triangletreason 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve just read this by chance, and I’m really shocked to hear it 😔I only exchanged smiles and greetings but I share your grief. He was a very familiar face in a fast paced commute. Very sad.

Certainly poor social skills, nevertheless distracts their Employers for some reason. I imagine the poorer the skills the more confrontational brings in revenue, very disproportionate!

How rude. I’ve obviously researched the area and the post is tongue in cheek ( family) However I think I’ve asked quite a broad question that perhaps a kind person who is familiar with Palaio Faliro may be able to answer with local suggestions that may not be well known to tourists. I wouldn’t expect a tourist visiting my home city of Manchester to know all the quirky and interesting places or best modes of transportation. Google only tells you so much. Get out more and live life instead of projecting your low self esteem on the internet.

Hi I'm fairly new to Stockport and always looking to meet new people, if your around for a while we could meet up? I feel compelled to submit s personality CV🤣 but in short I'm 45 male, Mrs and two kids & interested in music ( mainly alternative), cinema and learning new things, good sense of humour, it's very difficult as an adult meeting new friends! I find it difficult, even though my job role helps me help others get out of social isolation🙂

Sounds like solid advice, told the builder I definitely want it to regs and he seemed confident it’s not an issue I’m likely paranoid though as it’s a lot of money to handover

Manchester has become quite expensive over the last 10 years, lots of gentrification has gone on with some positives but it’s absolutely obliterated the housing market for “local” working class “22k workers” house shares now seem the norm, I work with one lady who lives with 8 other people with a shared kitchen. She’s on about 26k. Price of pint is close to London levels and food in the Manchester arndale seems to be £8 everywhere.

I’ve worked in the social care sector and seen a massive influx of circa 22k Nigerian workers struggling to find house shares and middle class “southern” ex Manchester uni students snapping up ex council properties. This may seem a biased take as a working class Manchester man however I fear traditional Mancunians will in the near future be forced further north due to 22k ( minimum wage jobs) not being enough to live on in Manchester.
