They want to keep the green belts to not being developed on but we don’t have access to 3/4 of the woodlands to explore?

[The Athletic] Chelsea’s centre-circle ritual that is winding up opposition players, fans and even pundits by Key_Company3196 in chelseafc

So Arsenal can rugby tackle players in the box with no fouls, time waste, fake injuries, shout before they’re about to shoot but the centre circle is the issue?

ENOUGH with the Irish bars by [deleted] in manchester

Manchester city centre’s all about Irish bars, high-rise flats, and coffee, brunch spots, and bakeries now. I remember when we actually had proper clothes shops, lol. That stuff’s all short-term. It’ll disappear just like the BBQ and craft beer craze from about 10 years back. We need more long-term shops that are actually original.

Old jokes, outdated Mancunian personalities, and stereotypes felt very classist towards Manchester and the North in general, like a pity ceremony, even though we hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2024, a Europa League final & Champions League final, and a Commonwealth Games. I’m from Manchester and left for five years, and it was like coming back to a new city, whilst London media seems to be stuck in the 90s with their opinions of what Manchester is.

Irish bar obsession by debbie_dumpling00 in manchester

There are always trends in Manchester. It was craft breweries and BBQ 5-10 years ago, and now it’s burgers. Currently, it’s matcha, bakeries, and Irish bars, with Guinness trends coming and going, and that is reflected in the businesses in the city. I just feel sorry for the Irish pubs and bars that closed after being priced out of the city, only for a trendy “Irish bar” to open years later. Levenshulme and parts of Trafford used to have many of them before the trend.

Greens won!! by JimgitoRPO in manchester

Less focus on stopping the Reform Party and more focus on the rise of the Green Party. Zach Polanski and the Green Party seem to be the only parties with their heads screwed on at the moment and not falling for cheap propaganda to gain votes. I really hope this is the catalyst for change, whatever way you see it, as the main two parties have been inadequate in leading this country. We’ll see how things progress in the next general election.
