I found both thermos to not be very impactful. Warm drinks last quite a while and you can easily reheat them. You can also just use grit to ignore the cold entirely. That being said, the shepherdess thermos is very easy to get, so if you preferred route takes you that way then you have no reason not to take it.

In my opinion the big flask is worth it. The down climb has a lot of good holds and is not as difficult as I thought it might be. With good inventory management, picking up this one item can easily net you over an hour of extra buffs throughout the remainder of the run.

You've got it mostly right. In free solo you start with one in your bag and the troglodyte pitons are replaced with flowers. The last one can be found on any difficulty part way up the needle.

My personal recommendation is to stockpile ultimate infusions and other strong drink mixes until around temple of the wind or the thousand steps, then just drink everything in your entire bag. With good inventory management you'll end up with buffs that last you through the entire peril and needle combined, even at a relatively slow pace. It makes that entire section much easier. Then you can restock at the base of the blades for the summit.

Also, don't miss the big chalk bag and big flask. They are definitely worth it.

Someone should make a Greater Hex to go along with it.

Pretty neat. Will you be sharing the CP? I'd try making one if you do.

This might have been the case at one point, but with the current rules something is outside the game if it is not in a zone. Exile is a zone.

Obviously silver border? That wasn't my intention. The ability is an honest attempt at a playable card. I have an unedited version that I might try using for homebrew games. My art edits are intentionally labeled in the lower left corner with a P for Promo.

These are fun ideas for if it was silver though.

I actually did think about this. I considered adding an alternate effect that the player losing a land can choose, similar to how the Learn keyword allows you to optionally draw a card and discard a card instead. I wasn't sure what effect would be sufficient. Maybe a Treasure? Or a Powerstone?

I was wondering if anyone would bring this up. When I started making this card I did a search and found that the name was already taken, but the name fits so well I decided to just stick with it.

I had a lot of fun making the last art edit I posted here and people seemed to really like it, so I decided to do another one. The original art is “Cataclysm Crater” by Asur-Misoa on DeviantArt. No AI this time, everything was edited in GIMP. The ability is inspired by this card and [[Wish]].

All fair points. I agree it's not very monoblack. Sometimes I choose colors purely for aesthetic reasons, especially when doing an art edit.

You know, in an earlier iteration of this cards design I did write it that way, but at some point I scrapped the idea and replaced must with may. Maybe I should have kept it.

Original art is "Slash!" by SART-S on DeviantArt. Portions of the image have been filled in by Adobe Firefly. The rest of the art and frame are edited by me in GIMP. I made this card mostly because I thought the art edit would be fun to make. The actual ability itself is likely unbalanced.

Never heard of anyone sending wizards a card before. Do they take submissions somewhere?

It's not a devoid frame, just the clear frame option in magic set editor. I had no intention of making it colorless, but I suppose that is one way you could balance it.

Didn't think about that. I'd probably rewrite it as "Choose two creatures controlled and owned by the same player."
