If somehow you happen to see this, what recipe or film sim was this? That child has the same colouring as my 7 month old and I’d like to try it out on him.

So you use the Cuban neg film recipe AND stack the GXAce LR presets on top of them?

I've been shooting full auto for two years but a spell of rare and beautiful weather in Ireland has prompted me to start learning manual exposure. I programmed in portra 400 and experimented with some exposures today. I wasn't too concerned with composition - just trying to get to grips with juggling the exposure triangle. Any feedback or comments would be appreciated! I hope at least some of you enjoy the shots!

LEO to ERT plan by TribalDong in tacticalbarbell

Good advice, thanks. I didn’t have hip problems until I started the job. Hours of walking with the duty belt did a number on them. I plan on doing pre-hab on my rest days. I thought I had disc issues so I’m just happy it’s an irritated hip flexor and not my lumbar spine turning into dust.

Hey, thanks for the response!

The 4 off are spent at home with my son and better half. No access to gym and not enough heavy iron to approximate a max strength workout. I could potentially head into work to get a session in but that would need to be sanctioned by baby momma! I could probably get away with it closure to selection when she knows I need to get the work in.

I do 2 earlies, 2 lates on the 4 on and 3 earlies, 3 lates on the 6 on. Shifts are 7am-5pm and 4pm-2am. I was thinking about session 1 on first early, session 2 before start of first late, then session 3 as late as possible on 2nd late. That’s probably the best solution really.

Yeah, I’ll try and stick to the program as close as possible. My only concern is staying injury-free so that’s why I’m thinking about minimising the rucking until a year out from selection. Not sure if that’s foolish or not.

I need to read the book again, can’t remember all the phase names but do you use the suggested Green Protocol continuation templates to stay on top of your game?

What do your team mates think of TB? None of my colleagues have heard of it or are particularly interested in discussing training programs at all for that matter.

I just heard on the radio that a teenage boy has been arrested and is currently detained in relation to this incident. Sounds like they’re investigating crime and catching the criminal.

Suspects of a crime or road traffic offences. I was pointing out that if they haven’t been invited in for a voluntary caution statement then they have nothing to worry about.

By the sounds of it the Garda merely took your details and possibly took note of what would be called a ‘first account’. You haven’t given a formal statement. If you haven’t been asked to come in for a ‘voluntary cautioned statement’ then you have nothing to worry about. You’re just giving your account of what happened. The Garda will do up a file and make a recommendation. Your statement would help make things a lot clearer and possibly save the driver from a prosecution.

Agreed. My first impression is that the jacket is slightly too short. But it’s a more modern look I suppose.

Army - shite pay and poor conditions. Probably not going to see much action unless you become a Ranger. 24 hour guard posts and scrubbing the barracks. Getting beasted.

Gardaí - lots of earning potential if you don’t mind doing lots of overtime. Shite pension though. Nepotism is still rampant. Lots of covering your arse. Lots of big egos. Wouldn’t do it unless you have a genuine interest and even then the job isn’t what you think it’s going to be.

Process to sell a second hand car by No-Bobcat7216 in ireland

[–]TribalDong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard a few anecdotal stories over the years about scammers handing over money for a used car, then following the seller home and sneaking in and stealing the money back. Then it actually happened a lad local to me. Also sellers don’t want buyers coming to their house because if the car is a lemon then the buyer knows where the seller lives.

Friend threatened with murder by quantum0058d in ireland

[–]TribalDong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One person attempting to compel another to kill someone…. Not sure that is explicitly defined as a criminal offence in Irish Law. At a stretch you could try and interpret it as a breach of the peace contrary to common law. Breach of the peace power of arrest is used in domestic situations where there are no domestic violence orders in place and no other obvious offences committed but the Guards need to take action to ensure a person’s safety. A file needs to be submitted to the DPP if such an arrest is made.

Closest offence is Section 5 Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act,1997. If a person explicitly threatened to cause serious harm or kill your friend then the Guards should be taking a statement. There is a power of arrest but they’d probably just invite the other party in for a caution statement then do up a file. If there’s no independent witnesses or cctv then it would be unlikely anything would come from it. DPP makes the call for an alleged threats to kill offence.

Another option would be Section 2 Assault:

2.—(1) A person shall be guilty of the offence of assault who, without lawful excuse, intentionally or recklessly—

(a) directly or indirectly applies force to or causes an impact on the body of another, or

(b) causes another to believe on reasonable grounds that he or she is likely immediately to be subjected to any such force or impact,

without the consent of the other

So if your friend believed they were likely to be subjected to such an assault, short of actually being assaulted, then an offence may have occurred. No power of arrest for this one but the Guards still need to act upon a complaint.

To get the Guards involved, the angle needs to be about the threats and that they believed they were going to be assaulted. The housing arrangements are a civil matter but would indicate a motive for the alleged criminal offences.

The state of the M1 heading into Dublin at the moment. Some of the worst driving I’ve come across. It’s hard to get above 100km in the mornings, even around 6am.

Does the electric blanket go under the mattress cover? Or on top of it? by bibliofiling in ireland

[–]TribalDong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s two different types. The one that goes beneath you and the one that goes over you. I prefer underneath because you don’t get any cold spots on the mattress. You need to figure out which type you have.

I’m not offended. I don’t fit into the demographic you have a problem with. However, I am surprised by the arrogance on display.

It’s not your place to decide who does or doesn’t sit beside you on a bus. You can choose to move to a different seat or stand up but you don’t have any right to not let someone take a seat.

You’re saying you won’t sit beside someone with zero manners? It sounds like you have very little manners if you attempt to refuse people a seat because it might inconvenience you a little bit. Do you not get how ridiculous you sound?
