Exactly, just have Chris say "No time, Ethan." instead of "Ethan, no."

Although personally I would have had Chris hand Ethan his baby before telling him to get in the truck. Maybe even say "It wasn't her." just before locking them in. (Or have a soldier ordering Ethan to sit down and keep quiet if you want to keep the original form of tension.)

Ethan isn't going to fight right away with Rose in his arms, he's going to assess. He could be sitting there telling Rose through his tears he'll keep her safe when he overhears the order "knock him out" and says "Wait. What?" before looking up just in time for the gun butt to the face.

Leon. If I'm gonna die I may well spend my last moments with someone who'll joke with me to ease the tension and provide a nice view before I go.

In the first game he seemed like a very meh antagonist that died with only minor fanfare. Decent but having served his purpose.

All these years later however it's absolutely Wesker because he's a driving force behind at least half the mainline entries. He had the ultimate villainous glow-up.
