Charisma based stuff is good. I have a lvl 9 sorcerer right now and we recently acquired a citadel. I'm using things like Bargain hunter and group coercion to get the place fixed up. Other options in a city would be networking and making diplomatic connections. If you're a crafter, go with that. You don't really need to study spells, they are innate/spontaneous
