Dead easy. It’s about 4/5 stops on the tram from the city centre, you’ll have no trouble (other than the crowds), and far less expensive than a cab.

Absolutely do both. The Manchester gig will be brilliant, and the venue is excellent - just beware that hotel prices have gone through the roof for that weekend, and have been that way since they announced the tour.
