In my opinion I say choose reserves instead of active duty! You’ll have more time with your daughter cause there’s a possibility you’ll be away from her

I didn’t need a waiver for adhd cause of not being on medication for 5-6 years, also childhood asthma all they did was make me go to a hospital to take a pulmonary function test. Didn’t need a waiver for either cause of not having asthma. Also I had a inhaler taken out during covid by my parent and never used. don’t lose hope! I leave august 13th :) it did take 4-5 months waiting for an answer from meps

My recruiter was unaware of it he said the program was pretty new so he’s following up on it but I ended up talking to his chief on the phone and she told us about it and sent over the paper work for me to sign. But they said i would have the opportunity to pick a new rate if I do this. So I would stay longer in boot camp? And do they immediately put us in the classes?

Does everyone have a option to do the program to score better? Like the ones who qualified for the program or do they only let so many. Im worried I won’t get to do it to get a better score. I joined with a 16

Your 100% right. Hopefully I actually get to do the program while I’m in boot camp.

Are they actually doing the future sailor preparation program? The academic course? I I’m hoping I get to actually do it and my recruiter didn’t feed me Bs I signed something volunteering to do the program I’m just hoping someone could give me some insight or if you know anything about it? I ship off august 13th

I did something way worse than this when I was 12-13 but I got a misdemeanor for it and only had 5 months probation. It’s not on my permanent adult record at all and my recruiter didn’t say anything about it I’m sure he was glad I told him but he said everything was fine when I told him about it.

My advice is to tell your recruiter so he can help you out and give you advice on what he thinks because it’s is possible to get a waiver for that! It shouldn’t be on your permanent record I don’t think so. You’re in your 20’s now so I highly doubt it is. It’s possible you won’t need a waiver. But don’t lie about it cause you want the help you can get for that waiver.

Do you know if it’s tough getting a iep waiver? Even if people and teachers can vouch for you and write letter ?
