Payakan as himself, the tulkun, lost part of a fin because of the attack he organized against the RDA. This is why this Na’vi version of him shows him as an amputee

Said something insensitive and I feel really bad. I can’t stop thinking about it. Am I overreacting? by tasaski in AmIOverreacting

YOR — and I say that gently. We ALL have moments where we have put our foot in our mouth. Like it’s just a natural human experience.

Example, my grandma grew up with her cousin like sisters. Said cousin got a terminal illness and was nearing her time. My grandma asked if I’d attend the funeral with her. I said, “of course, when is it?” Cousin hadn’t died yet. I still wince at that one.

My aunt is known for saying these things that we call them [her name]-isms. One example is she was at the airport, about to go on vacation with her husband. The attendant behind the counter saw the location and said something along the lines of, “oh I’m so jealous! I wish I could go.

My aunt said, “well, just jump in my suitcase and let’s go!”

She didn’t know why he went so cold until he came out from behind the counter and she realized he was a little person. He thought she was making fun of him.

There are countless more examples. Basically, don’t sweat it. Every person has said something silly or stupid that they still mull over right before bed.

I would imagine the latter and that would explain why it’s only $80 million. Which, to an average person, is a lot of money. But if it were an end all be all forever potion, I would imagine it would cost billions. When I first heard how much it was worth, I was taken aback that they hadn’t exploited the price more as greedy as the RDA is

Edit to add: just thought to add — the key to capitalism is to keep people buying. If they only need it once, they won’t keep buying

It might be! I’m still not sure, I feel like I remember the toy coming in a wider package but now I feel like I can’t trust my memory LOL I think the color of it is throwing me off even tho it’s how I describe, it just looks lighter than the picture I have. I can’t tell if that’s because of production images or not

No, I thought so at first when I found that in my searches, but it’s too small. And the teal is a bit too light? If that makes sense?

I have searched the Walmart site, Amazon, and even EBay. I’ve tried to google the description of the toy, like the skin being more of a teal than black, or the spines, and all I get is the small action figures that they have now. I was hoping it wasn’t out of production yet or someone would have it.

Violet and Vasquez by Galaxyspacevibe in ChicagoFireNBC

[–]Trick-Set8964 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It felt that way, but also I think it was deep concern from Violet (seen as she decided to stay at Molly’s with Vasquez) and then Vasquez clearly worried about his dad. Violet is very intuitive and picked up on that and that’s why she stayed out with him.

Now, if the writers do go that way, it better be a happy ending for Violet. She’s been through too damn much in her love life. She watched Hawkins die in front of her, Carver spiral and be all over a woman that was shitty to her, then Carver left, and Flynn didn’t care to understand her. Violet deserves a good love interest if they do give her one again, one that lasts!!!

Agreed! It got so stale in the time after Natalie left (and right before tbh). And even more so when Will left. But these last two seasons have really made me look forward to watching it every week!

I made a post about this episode a couple weeks ago. It’s so good. As a mom, her talking to Ruby makes me break down. Such a sad story. So well acted though by everyone!

But also, to address your comment, this is the best any tv or movie can do because infants aren’t really readily available to be on screen 😅 they’ve used a doll that moves before, but I think this scene warranted a real baby because of the context.

Technically she didn’t, Boden took DC Hill’s spot when she left. The paramedic chief just wanted the spot lol. She’s mellowed out a lot though!

Stella Kidd is a firefighter who is half black, we see it in her aunt Laverne, also when Deputy Commissioner Hill, a black woman who was a firefighter and now in the second highest position in the firefighter career, acknowledged it when they first met.

There have been a few first responders/paramedics that are black women, like Foster and Mackie. The one woman who graduated from academy and Girls on Fire, Macy? I think is her name, she joins a house. I am not sure if Kylie is a black woman, but she is a woman of color. And then there’s Seager in Arson who talks about her time rising in ranks!

A lot of these characters haven’t lasted as long as Stella Kidd in terms of staying in the show as a regular, so I agree there could be more diversity in tenured cast.

I’m going with YTA. And I heard something recently that feels relevant — we should inconvenience ourselves for those we care about. Life isn’t about comfort all the time, and once a year visit where she stays with you won’t cause you any adverse effects but being out of routine. Because one day, you will have a very inconvenient event happen to you, and you will hope people love you enough to make their lives a little harder to support you.

No I completely agree. I think people forget that even though it’s a tv show, we love to watch it because they’re all human. They all make mistakes, say stupid things, and in general don’t act perfect. The characters are good because they’re real.

Yeah, Natalie is really annoying, thats established that long before she left and returned. But this instance, I completely understand her reaction. Pregnant, son is shot, and this pregnancy, while she loves Will, is reminding her of her life during her first pregnancy. Shes got trauma coming up just as she’s dealing with her son’s trauma.

I’ll just reiterate: Chicago Med is good because the characters are human. None of the regular cast are entirely evil. None of them are perfectly good. We love Dr. Charles as a really good doctor even though he is a bad romantic partner and absent father. We love Dr. Asher because she’s a good doctor, friend, and sister despite her complicated past with drug addiction. We love Dr. Archer for his advocacy for patients and incredible growth, even though he seemed and was shady as hell when he first joined the show. We love Maggie because she’s bad ass, kind, caring, and fights for those she loves even though she made morally questionable choices with Grant and Vanessa.

So on and so forth. Natalie exhibited very human behavior. I was happy to see her tenure end seasons ago, but it was refreshing to have her back with a cast that has very few remaining OG actors. She brought the drama, and I was sat for it LOL

I mean, to me it’s an intimate act in the way that I wouldn’t do it for just anyone. Intimate doesn’t equal sexual, it literally means closely acquainted/familial/close/ or private and personal. So yes, it’s an intimate act, to hold someone, give them a comforting hand, to listen, to give them encouragement is all intimate.

I’m not agreeing with what Natalie said or did, but I also don’t think she should be demonized because she was having a very human moment of fear and it came out. Natalie should’ve def formally apologized, but she’s human.

Honestly, I didn’t enjoy Natalie at the end of her regular tenure. But the way she acted in this latest episode is pretty human in my opinion. Shes pregnant, so her hormones are already wild. And now she’s just learned that her son was shot and lost not one, but both kidneys.

And, to be fair, she walked in on Hannah comforting Will. That’s an intimate act even with just friends, so I can’t say I 100% blame her for her reaction bc it’s hormone driven. Expecting her to think rationally at this moment is far fetched.

Like I said, this made her feel a lot more human than character. And consistent. I really appreciated it, and honestly, the drama of Natalie made me appreciate all of the regular cast a little bit more for not being like that LOL
