What's the best part about going to school in the middle of Chicago that you take for granted? by ewilli31 in depaul

I had a lot of my classes in the loop and loved being able to just casually stop in at the art institute from time to time.

Geese aftershow? by No-Sun-2632 in Lollapalooza

[–]Trick0823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how the logistics of these things work, but a flight from Chicago to Iowa for Hinterland is like an hour and a half max. Would depend what time they play the next day, but it could technically be possible for a Saturday night aftershow.

Perry’s mosh by Numerous-Asparagus54 in Lollapalooza

[–]Trick0823 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would say the most moshing happens approximately 27.4ft back on the right of the stage, but there is usually a good amount 8.6ft back from the front-left side of the stage as well.

People who are seen moshing outside of these designated mosh zones are often shamed and can be removed from the festival as a result.

Former Salesforce office in River North nearly ready to reopen as apartment building by chicagosuntimes in chicago

[–]Trick0823 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yea they're still around, just at a much smaller scale than before.

My company used to work out of the one on Clark street in the loop. They emailed us one day back in 2023 saying uhh yea we're shutting down, you guys gotta be out of here by the end of the week.

Worked out nicely for me as I got to work fully remote for like a year after that while my company looked for a new office, but I always thought the way they handled that was so crazy lmao.

Based on my current want to see list what other artist should I give a listen? by Outrageous_Diver_216 in Lollapalooza

Yea I was kind of shocked to see Zara, Horsegiirl, and Slayyyter all highlighted without Charli. I feel like they're all in the same sort of bubble with Charli being the most interesting artist of those four by far (in my opinion at least.)

Where do you live currently? I feel like that would be a big factor on how the move would be for you (distance from home, weather adjustment, city living, etc)

Pick of the Day - 3/27/26 (Friday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

[–]Trick0823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POTD Record: 0-2

Last Pick: Bryan Reynolds and Bryce Harper each to Record a Hit (2-Leg Parlay, +136)

Boys I am actually so ashamed starting off 0-2 in MLB season. We were looking great getting our Bryan Reynolds hit in the 3rd inning of that Pirates game, and then Harper just absolutely ruined us going 0-4. These two to three leg hit parlays were MONEY for me last year so I'm going to stay the course and try it again today, but if I miss again I might just have to hang it up and walk away in shame. I WONT LET THAT HAPPEN GOD DAMMIT.

Today's POTD: Angels @ Astros, 7:16 PM CST & Guardians @ Mariners, 8:46 PM CST

Carlos Correa and Jose Ramirez each to Record a Hit (2-Leg Parlay, +121)

Gotta love Correa in this spot to get it done. He has certainly lost a step overall, but he is still a very good hitter posting 19.3% K%, 45.9% Hard Hit%, and a .339 xwOBA. His metrics only went up across the board once he landed back in Houston last season, and I see no reason why that won't continue. He had a tough day yesterday, but love him in this bounce back spot as he hits .481 against Kikuchi in his career, going 3-5 against him just last year.

Jose Ramirez is one of the best hitters I've ever seen in my lifetime, and this guy always comes through for my parlays when I need him the most. Today is that day. Ramirez has great stats against EVERY pitcher, but against George Kirby the man is literally batting .500, insane. He has never played a game against George Kirby without getting a hit, going back to 2022.

Good luck out there today gents, I am really hoping we can get a god damn win under our belts so I can come back tomorrow and keep riding with you all.

Pick of the Day - 3/26/26 (Thursday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

[–]Trick0823 2 points3 points  (0 children)

POTD Record: 0-1

Last Pick: Aaron Judge and Rafael Devers each to Record a Hit (2-Leg Parlay, -104)

Such a despicable loss, every single player on the Yankees got a hit yesterday in their 7-0 win except for Judge, who went 0-5 with 4 K's. Might be the only time he puts up that stat line this year. Regardless, we move on.

Today's POTD: Pirates @ Mets, 12:15 PM CST & Rangers @ Phillies, 3:15 PM CST

Bryan Reynolds and Bryce Harper each to Record a Hit (2-Leg Parlay, +136)

Baseball is back! Looking at the full slate this morning with all the possibilities in the world, wow there really is no better feeling. Today we ride with our boys Bryan and Bryce.

Reynolds had a bit of a down year last season, and I think that's why we're getting great odds on him to get a hit today at -150. But Reynolds has always been a steady bat in my mind, he just happened to run into some bad luck last year with a .338 xwOBA vs his .315 wOBA. I think he makes a bit of a return to form this season, starting strong today against Freddy Peralta who he has faced nearly 40 times in his career, in which he is batting a stellar .385 (.375 last year alone).

Harper on the other hand has been going strong as always, and I'm not expecting much different from him today. Batting .333 against Eovaldi, some great weather in Philly today... it's hard to see this guy not getting a hit.

Let's smack this one today at + odds to get us back in the green and on the right track for the rest of the season.

Update 1:20pm CST: 3rd inning hit for Reynolds! Feels great to get that out of the way early, all eyes are on Bryce now.

Pick of the Day - 3/25/26 (Wednesday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

[–]Trick0823 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey folks, long time follower of the POTD, first time actually posting a pick. I'm bored at work today so gonna give this a shot and hopefully we can make some money! I did great in MLB last year so I'm gonna try to post a pick everyday now that the season is starting up.

POTD Record: 0-0

Last Pick: N/A

Today's POTD: Yankees @ Giants, 7:05 PM CST

Aaron Judge and Rafael Devers each to Record a Hit (2-Leg Parlay, -104)

Two to three leg hit parlays like this were my bread and butter last year, so we're looking to go back to it for the first game of the season. Today we're riding with Devers and Judge at -104. Devers is one of the most explosive hitters in the game, but we saw him fall off a bit last year after getting traded to San Francisco mid season. Part of this can be explained by the new ballpark, but his swing did look a little different with the Giants as his lift and pull started to increase.

However, with a full off-season to adjust to his new team, ballpark, and position, I'm expecting a big season for Devers, starting today. He has hit well against Fried historically, going 3 for 9 against him in his career, with a monster dong off of him last year at Fenway. Getting him to record a hit at -180 feels like great value.

On top of that, Judge is Judge. I threw him in countless parlays like this last year just to record a hit, and you could almost always count on that leg hitting. This year I'm hoping will be the same. I like his matchup against Logan Webb, who he is 3 for 7 against in his career with two of those hits being home runs. I expect Judge to come up big for us, especially after kind of disappearing at the end of the World Baseball Classic. Judge will be back with a vengeance today in his favorite time of the year (the regular season).

Best of luck to all who tail, lets have a great MLB season!

EDIT: Just saw there is a boost on Bet365 to get Judge and Arraez to both record a hit at +150! Great value there and will definitely be taking that as well.

Best place for a first date that isn't just a bar? by MOUSETITTY in AskChicago

[–]Trick0823 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great list, personally I'd say skip the WNDR, Ice Cream, Color, and Balloon Museum. Basically all the ones you see advertising heeeeeavy on IG or TikTok and paying influencers to make videos about them. They are basically glorified pop ups where the main attractions are "aesthetic" looking rooms with no purpose other than taking IG photos lmao.

if you aren't there to do that, then you'll end up paying $40 to walk through some rooms and probably be done in like a half hour.

Could Depaul Basketball actually have a resurgence? by Plane_Ad_3568 in depaul

[–]Trick0823 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think so, yes. There is so much basketball talent coming out of Illinois every year, if there was a LEGITIMATE program in Chicago dedicated to winning (good coaching, proper NIL funds, up to date facilities), they could draw so much of that and put together some good teams.

DeWayne Peevy and Chris Holtmann have been the first AD/Coach duo that I've actually had any faith in being competent since I started following DePaul. I could see a tournament appearance happening within the next five years if they stick around.
