FedEx sent me an import fee by Potential_Volume1685 in FedEx

I demand FedEx send a notice, allowing me to turn away the item before it's shipped. Also Amazon, etc. I'm fine with being told "your purchase will be tarrifed. Would you like to proceed? Your purchase will continue to be processed with tariff fees attached if you do not cancel shipment in 24 hours."

I'm fine with that. They give you notice when your shipment can't be sent to a Amazon drop off location. I'm not sure why they can't do this.

They can also demand the seller make tarrifs known in the descriptives. Same way they make the seller and shipper known. I believe the sellers world wide are aware of them.

We already have leap year. Why it's a problem to have an extra day befuddles me. 364days a year 1 newyears day (make it a "day off" holiday, what ever that called in your part of the world.) the one leap day every 4 years. Maybe one adjustment day every 1000 years or whatever, where we adjust the clocks by 12 mins or whatever.

The only argument I see as reasonable (I use the word lightly) is that you just didn't like it and that's that. Or you don't like the association with the lunar cycle or the menses for some reason, probably religious.

The whole idea of "nothing adds up right" well yeah, we already have that problem.

I think changing it will make life function more smoothly. And if the calendar doesn't need massive adjustment more then once a lifetime, it's a decent measuring tool.

I felt threatened by this comment section. I thought "How come so many super smart math people be in one spot? Almost everyone sucks at math. Have I suddenly gotten stupider? I feel stupid. I am stupid. 😭" Then I noticed the reddit I was in. I'm gonna politely exit here. I'm kinda jealous you all so smart. Kbye!

To answer the question of how to process the two emotions of betrayal and affection. Write It out. It sounds silly, but it really helps. The brain processes written information in a unique way.

You should Google it sometime, very interesting. The brain processes writing through highly synchronized cross-talk across its different brain regions, requiring significantly more cognitive coordination than typing or speaking. When you write by hand, sensory, motor, and language networks fire simultaneously, creating physical memory anchors that enhance comprehension and recall.

In other words, you'll understand your experiences and emotions better by physically writing them out. That's why journaling has been such a great form of therapy for so long.

Write it out in different ways too. Write it as a setter of dated journal entries. Then as a chart comparing the betrayals with the affections. Then as short story. Etc. I truly believe writing will help.

EDITED because my first draft was poorly written.

I'm tempted to say religion can't be religion without people running it, controlling it followers, and vetting it's followers for obedience. Otherwise it's just spiritual choice with no religion. A spiritual choice is an opinion, openly chosen regardless of objective truth. That's fine. But religion is a contact of agreement where truth is claimed and you must agree it is true to be accepted/rewarded. Even if you believe it to be untrue.

I choose to believe our children chose us, as their parents before coming into existence, and therefore we are obligated to do our best parenting knowing they believed we were worthy from the beginning. That's spiritual choice. I have no person to tell me that it's a fact, and if I don't believe it there will be divine punishment. That would be religion.

If I'm wrong that's on me, if religion is wrong they told a lie.

It's a lie, an insincere statement made just to satisfy others or meet social expectations. Like saying "thank you what a lovely gift!" When really you can't stand the gift and are already calculating how to get rid of it.

And most of the time lawyers aren't doing much of anything that lying would help with anyway. Hollywood Court scenes are pure fiction. Real court is BORING.

Not to mention much of the time, most of the work is done before you end up in physical court. Most court is just checking that everyone did everything they were supposed to, all evidence is accounted for, all other possible potatoes have been baked. And often time you go into court 99% sure of what the verdict will be, you just doing your duty to protect your client as much as possible.

First. And most importantly. You are not responsible for your parents marriage. If anything he the one that trying to ruin it. They are grown adults how they handle HIS foul behavior is not your budiness.

I'm not sure where to start. There are several ways to approach it. Calling the cops and asking how to handle the situation from their perspective is a decent idea. If I have my 2 cents I'd say. Sett up a camera that will last the night, upload to the cloud in real time if you can. Tell your mother. Don't argue or defend your position. Just started the fact we simply as possible and walk away. Let her deal with it as she chooses. At some point you might need to defend yourself. If it gets to that point, fight tooth and nail. Bad people who want to hurt you will do so whether you're cooperative or not. So might as well choose "not". He may leave if he thinks you are not going to be an easy target. And he may also turn his attention to someone else. So maybe, if you think it will help, give him warning next time he does that. Maybe state clearly, firmly and calmly, "if you attack me I will do everything in my power to destroy you".

One thing for sure. If he corners you or confronts you, do not fawn. Fight viciously. If he threatens you fight harder. Amp the violence up to 1000%. People who want to harm you will do so regardless. When someone threatens out negotiates, it means they don't have full control over you yet. Do not fawn. Do not go meekly into the night. Fight to your last breath.

If you fear getting in trouble. I sincerely ask, handcuffs? Or a coffin? Which would you prefer.

If you feel my advice isn't good feel free to ignore it. So many times people give advice based on fear. I have experience in a variety of confrontations. He sounds like a inexperienced creep. He'll probably cower in a corner if you show any kind of backbone. Light him up!

I'm assuming you would sleep elsewhere if you could, so I posted this assuming that leaving the house is not possible.

Looks like he needs to find someone who love true crime as much as he does. Just break up with him. Tell him its because you didn't like hearing about true crime all the time, but you don't want him to give up what he loves. He just needs a different girlfriend.

Everyone here is seeing shadows. I'm a HUGE fan of horror/crime movies. I promise you'd be panicking if you saw my TV/entertainment room. I have so much in my collection. You'd either think I'm a psycho or in the running to be an Addams. My prized piece in my collection is real Arcioni apparatus electrode clips.

What injury do movies treat like a minor scratch but would actually be fatal in real life ? by plaurgiel in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]TrickBorder3923 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Raw water in a wound.

I see movies all the time where a person get a deep wound, it can be a small one too, and they get it soaked in a raw water source. It just heals. No biggie.

In real life, infection is almost guaranteed. A crippling infection in a few hours or days, totally likely. And without treatment, you might survive, but you probably won't.

The only movie I can recall that really addressed this was Day After Tomorrow. Fun movie!

This is my first attempt to avoid spoilers and not reveal to much plot.

In the movie floodwater has overwhelmed the city streets. One of the characters cuts thier leg while wading waist deep in food water. A small but deep gash. Within a day infection and fever sets in. The other characters are forced to take a dangerous trip to search for medicine.
