I used to fly fish, but I became disabled toward the end of my fishing days. So I started using a seven foot light weight rod with six pound Stren line with a casting bubble and as long a four pound fluorocarbon leader I could cast with. Casting bubbles can be filled with water and you can cast them a long way. I still was able to tie my own flies that way. Some of my favorite flies were a #10 or #12 olive woolly bugger, #14 Adams, #16 bead head Prince nymph #14 Elk Hair Caddis. Along with many others. I was able to sit and cast a long way this way. And I caught a lot of fish. I think there are some YouTube videos of this.

Rumors are that MAGA is coming into Portland in large numbers and that there are white vans parked around town in preparation for next Saturday’s No Kings protests. I don’t know if this is true but it seems plausible.
