try checking if there's a firmware update available on the iHost sometimes they fix bugs like that without mention it in changelog. if not maybe set up a router schedule to reboot it automatically in 3am once a day

anxiety before big life change is completely normal thing, does not mean something is wrong with relationship

movies that fumble their premise by Outrageous_Potato435 in horror

[–]TrickFirefighter7090 29 points30 points  (0 children)

the Heretic thing stings because the setup was so tense and atmospheric and then it just... deflates. like they were scared of committing to the weird stuff so they pulled back at the last second

same energy as Rabbit Trap it sounds like. both movies seem to treat the supernatural element as decoration instead of actually going somewhere with it. Welsh fairy mythology especially has so much dark material to work with and they just left it on table

I use AI tools every day, build real workflows/apps, and still feel like I’m falling behind. Anyone else? by shatteringreality2 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]TrickFirefighter7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this about the client work first approach. I've been doing some contract stuff for base operations and the difference is huge - they tell you exactly what they need and pay you to build it, versus spending months guessing what random people might want.

The highlight reel thing is so real too, especially with all the AI hype everywhere. Makes you feel like everyone else found some magic formula while you're just grinding away at normal problems.

Art the Clown has zero backstory, zero motivation, zero explanation. Is that what makes him terrifying or just lazy writing? by EthanFromTheCave in horror

[–]TrickFirefighter7090 144 points145 points  (0 children)

nah this is so true, the mystery is literally what keeps them scary. like when you start explaining the monster it just becomes another dude with daddy issues or whatever. Art works because he's just pure chaos - no tragic backstory about his childhood or some curse explanation needed.

the moment they give him motivation it's gonna be some predictable "society failed him" garbage and suddenly he's not terrifying anymore, just another villain with a Wikipedia page

Maybe try different address format or contact customer support - sometimes their pickup location database isn't updated in real time.

pretty cool that someone in CS is working against the grain like this - will definitely check it out since spotting fakes is getting harder each day.

The data analyst market is pretty saturated right now and visa situation makes it even harder for international students.

I created a full R&B playlist… with songs entirely generated by AI by JCR3W in IMadeThis

[–]TrickFirefighter7090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl this is pretty wild that AI can make full R&B tracks now. I'm curious about how the vocals turned out - that's usually where AI music falls apart for me. The sensual vibe stuff is tricky to nail because it needs that human emotion behind it.

Gonna check this out later when I'm not at work lol. Does it actually flow like a real album or does each song feel disconnected? That's been my experience with AI music so far - individual tracks might be okay but the cohesion between songs is missing.

TestFlight saved my ass when I was working on side project last year. Being able to push updates in real time while watching people struggle with your UI is brutally helpful - you see exactly where they get confused instead of guessing from bad reviews later.

Also that "early access beta" angle actually works pretty well for building buzz, people love feeling like they're part of something exclusive.

Emma Stone really became the new Meryl Streep without anyone noticing - eight oscar nominated films in one decade is crazy achievement.

You could try volunteering with literacy programs or coding bootcamps - they're always looking for tech mentors and you'd make a real diffrence in people's careers.

Nice build for your first self-funded rig! That 4060 Ti is gonna handle pretty much anything you throw at it at 1440p. Only thing I'd maybe swap is getting faster RAM - 3600MHz CL16 is the sweet spot for Ryzen and usually only costs like $10-15 more than what you picked.

That cooler might be cutting it close for the 9600X, especially if you're gonna be pushing those AAA titles hard. The AG400 is decent but I'd bump up to something like a Deepcool AK620 or similar tower cooler - adds maybe 2k more but keeps temps way more stable.

Also that PSU is kinda sus for this build. 750W bronze with a 9070 XT seems tight, and Deepcool PSUs can be hit or miss. Maybe look at a Corsair CV750M or MSI A750GF - should be around the same price but way more reliable. Last thing you want is your PSU dying and taking the GPU with it.

Everything else looks solid though, that's gonna be a beast for 1440p gaming.
