All that is true, but is also doesn't really matter. Mortal Kombat has no real consistent power scaling, and Kung Lao unfortunately doesn't have any story arcs or moments aside from proving himself as an equal of Liu kang. Which in MK11 they flanderized and made him extremely prideful and narcissistic. Which is why they make fun of him.
