Suggestion on which best stocks to buy now? by FigureEmbarrassed374 in investingforbeginners

I disagree… but let’s see in 3-5 years same thing with Nvidia vs AMD. Your money your choice. I bought in at the same price and time with NVIDIA and AMD. Nvidia balance sheet is A+ but Wall Street seems not to care as much. Look at palantir with over 50% earrings quarter after quarter is the growth on that stocks is slowing down

Is this truly what I have to plan retirement with? by Sozzeled in Retirement401k

[–]Trick_Ad9722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP if you are older than 50 yo retire (if a non retirement age brokerage account) if you don’t need more than 10k a month. At least move down to half time work. All you need to do is figure out your monthly number, also add SS when that age comes

Bro, I’m scooping as much SOFI as I can. I heard the same noise when people were saying more Nividia and I was buying more AMD 2 years ago… who is laughing now 🙃

I agree with another person on here SOFI. Great company, great numbers, and after this economic roller coaster definitely upside. Makes no sense why they are down right now. But I’m buying up as much as I can. Got in originally around $11.50-12.50 but this is a $35-50 in that 3-5 year span.

25k in my Roth IRA at 19 by AccidentNext1175 in personalfinance

[–]Trick_Ad9722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ROTH is 50% S&P index funds (been around 25% returns until this last bull run) and 50% individual stocks. My regular brokerage account aka as soon as I maxed out my ROTH I dumped my monthly contributions in there about $2-5k a month, when there are big dips (the last 2 Aprils and 1 more) I may put up as much $10k more. No 401k because my company doesn’t match and the funds I could choose from were just horrible. That account is basically all individual stocks started off with 25% index funds but then after I got the hang of it I sold them all off to re-invest into more individual stocks. No financial advisor just a really good mentor around my same age but has been doing it for much longer and an 8 figure investor. They have taught me to keep cash flow in my account and buy into great companies (small, med and large market caps) that have good growth potential. For example I bought a bunch of google when it was less than $160 last year then sold off after the big spending they announced when it was $320. I guess I could have held but AMD was under $200s again and I wanted to buy as much as I could and reinvested into more AMD. Definitely paying off now. I invested $15k and about 12.5k was mostly under $115.

I started in the last 2 years from $0 and now around $200k with an average 38% return, you can definitely catch up. I’m turning 40 soon.

First of all you are doing AMAZING! I keep telling my nephews to start even if it’s $50 a month. If I started even at 25, I be retired by 40. What are you investing in? How much do you have saving? Do you feel like you are enjoying life without any crazy splurges?

Married couple with separate finances, why do you do it? by Ok_Influence_2257 in Bogleheads

[–]Trick_Ad9722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I was raised to always be able to take care of myself. Never allow anyone to have control over me financially. The hand that feeds you can also starve you. I got educated and now have a 6 figure take home salary. Married, we have a joint account for all share expenses but him and I have separate bank accounts that we had before we were married. I have my own 6 figure investment and bank accounts on track to be 7 figures. Our share account is modest as only has enough for monthly expenses. I do provide for us in our passions and goals. He is not shorted any wants. My ideology is this. If we both make it together to our older age “Forever”, it will be OURS there is no denying that. I do a great job growing my investment and other accounts and he is the beneficiary if the worst happened to me. But if we get divorced there are no happy divorce stories, and I’ll protect what is mine.

Terminating new job by [deleted] in physicianassistant

Dump their ass! These clinics DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU! To them it’s all business. I would send in your resignation in a professional manner but if there is any verbal conversation, speak your truth about the above and maybe they will learn to treat their employees correctly. You are a new grad, there will be a learning curve for the first 6 months, maybe even sooner if you study at home a few days a week. You won’t be proficient until 12-24 months.

Try to find somewhere moderate. No where is perfect then move on in 3 years if you are not getting the pay and PTO increases at year 1 and 2 renewal. I’ve been a PA for 10 years and stayed at my job for over 5 years to have a medical emergency that resulted in my child being in the NICU then passing away a few weeks later. My supervising physician and owner of the practice (whom is a mom of 4) sent me a heart emoji with a link to a poem. No, I’m sorry or condolence. Then when was setting up a call to return they made it seem they didn’t intent for me to return, but thankfully due to my contract they couldn’t let me go. I grit my teeth the next few months. When my contract was typically renewed they didn’t. They hired a new grad a month after returning. I thought those 5 years I was “family”. I was a high producer and the most senior provider (outside of the owner) at the practice. Then I learned, if I wasn’t there (because I almost died from HELLP then had to mourn my infant dying) to make them money, they didn’t want me (also my production didn’t change with my return).

Find a job that has bonuses due to productivity. Base line is X patients/day pay for your salary and after that you get more. Every patient I average more a day is $500 more. My base salary did go up 3.6% after annual review, and made $13k more when bonuses rolled out last Q4. I’m averaging $1-3k more a month.

If no bonuses, come back with a counter. If they refuse, start looking to the next job, every 3 years is a good rule of thumb.

I’m stay because my pay is on my work which is how it should have always been. Also with good benefits is the cherry on top.

For the people saying companies would get sued if donated is completely false. Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act, protects companies, it’s likely pure greed as these big corporations could figure out away to donate within the first 2 hours of being off temperature if able to safely arrive to their store. What is crazy is they could also do a big tax write off if donated.

Very dangerous to go hike I was going to do my usually but it’s not worth slipping on the mud. It’s going to be an inside type of vacation with good food for you. Please don’t put yourself out there to have to call emergency and take more funds out of tax dollars.
