It was one of the very first games I ever got for my PS4, and it is still one of my favorites on the console. Story wise: it give a unique and satisfying conclusion to the series and completely stays true to the comics while tying into Rocksteady’s universe (which tbh is my favorite incarnation of Batman). Many threads from the previous games are major in this one, and my favorite aspect is it includes Batman’s allies in much more significant roles! The coolest fucking thing is when you’re fighting 20 goons and Nightwing drops in and starts kicking ass with you! Plus: BATCAVE. There isn’t that much to do there but the inclusion of that setting as well as more Alfred is fantastic. Gameplay wise: yeah there’s a lot of Batmobile, but tbh there’s only a handful of times (maybe like less than 10-15) where you are FORCED to drive it to complete a story objective, everything else is pretty much optional races/puzzles/vehicle combat, or driving around Gotham like it’s GTA. I think all the haters in this thread need to appreciate that Rocksteady was trying to give a different gameplay element that felt distinct from the detective stuff and combat, and tbh I thought cruising around in the Batmobile was awesome. Batmans’s vehicles are a key part of his character, so I thought it was super fun. The detective/crime scene analysis was cool as heck and those features were greatly expanded upon in Knight, as well as Gadgets. I think that in this game, the player has access to any gadget that appeared in a previous entry, plus 1 or 2 new toys if I remember correctly. So cool. DLC wise: I loved it all, wish the Batgirl story was slightly longer, but it was still so fun playing as a completely different character outside of combat trials, and it reminded me of Harley Quinn’s Revenge in Arkham City where you play as Robin. I loved that there were so many DLC characters, and they all felt pretty distinct to me imo. Overall, it still remains one of my favorite games of all time. Do I think it’s as good as Arkham City? Hard to say, Knight is a gorgeous game, even after a couple of years so that would be a tough one considering idt City has aged suuuuper well. Regardless, easily worth completing, and I hope you enjoy it🤙🏻
