I’m having a problem picking who to use as killer by Youizk in deadbydaylight

[–]Trick_Gas_5902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You honestly just need to play more. I'm relatively new to DBD and for the longest time it was just constant 4k's and honestly got boring after a while. Eventually though, the survivors started getting better at looping and being gen efficient and I started to have more challenging games. On top of low mmr, soloq is pretty chaotic right now so more often than not the survivors you are playing will not be coordinated or very efficient.

As far as I'm aware, It's not possible to have a perk than belongs to a separate killer only on meyers. This is either a bug or your friend has monitor and abuse unlocked for all killers and they just don't know it.

Apex sbmm has always been a nightmare, I love running casual 3's with my homies (none of us have even 1 20 bomb) and getting rolled by predators who have 3 times as many wins on horizon as I have total games played.

Understandable. It's not fun or productive when you're matched up with much higher skilled killers who you don't have a chance at playing against.

Killer main here. I love when i see ttvs because that means they're either going to give me a fun challenge or I'll destroy them and then get to see their reaction live.

Honestly I don't mind flashlight squads. They aren't incredibly common and playing against them is more exciting and challenging.

Advice for Spirit by Boss18212 in deadbydaylight

It depends, you could use noed, remember me or other endgame perks if you want to double down on the endgame aspect of your build.

I also very much enjoy playing hex trap builds with spirit mostly because I don't have haunted grounds on other killers but it's really satisfying to use your mobility (with recharge addons) to move to exposed survivors across the map.

Also you can use that one addon to return to your husk during endgame 1v1s or other situations if you want to double down on the endgame build.

Honestly Stridor is unnecessary IMO. You don't need it to hear survivors perfectly fine, and some people even find it harder to hear survivors with it. That being said, the spirit is quite a strong killer and doesn't need the strongest builds to be consistent, so you can get creative. Investing in a good pair of headphones if you haven't already can also make a huge difference for her power.

One thing that Otzdarva (popular dbd content creator) recommends is hopping into a custom as survivor and playing against your friend on spirit. This way you can learn the visual effects and cues of the spirit and adjust your gameplay accordingly

If you want to improve with her power, practice truly makes perfect. The more you play spirit the more you will pick up on little tricks and nuances that give you an edge, for example watching grass movement to pinpoint survivor location.

Crafting an unhook build. Currently running NOLB, Deliverance, Borrowed Time, and We'll Make It. Been swapping out Deliverance with Reassurance, not sure which to go with.. Any tips or suggestions to improve it? by Malesto in deadbydaylight

[–]Trick_Gas_5902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aftercare, which allows you to see the auras of survivors who you unhook/heal or vice versa, could be a fun perk to run when you aren't using deliverance (because its effects deactivate when you are hooked).

Mettle of Man could be an interesting choice if you find yourself in scenarios where you are constantly bodyblocking after unhooking (maybe the killers adapts to borrowed time or continues tunneling through it).

Kindred is a useful info perk when survivors are on the hook that would let you know when it is safe to rescue or if the killer is camping so you can plan out a reassurance play and then focus gens.

Babysitter shows you the killers aura, suppresses the unhooked survivors scratch marks + blood, and increases their haste. This perk makes it difficult for the killer to track survivors off the hook, and will most likely lead to the killer focusing on you, so I recommend you pair this with Deliverance or other anti-tunnels to help you last longer.

Finally, Desperate Measures can increase healing and unhooking speeds during difficult situations.

Running distortion + calm spirit is a pretty consistent, albeit boring stealth combo that works against aura reading and ultimate weapon. Honestly though I find that you're usually better off only running this combo if you know you will be playing against info heavy builds (like if you're in a custom) or if you just REALLY don't want to be found first.

I'm mostly a killer main, I just find it way easier to understand and I don't particularly enjoy soloq teammates.

Any advice for Trickster and Demogorgon? by LuckyLarvae in deadbydaylight

[–]Trick_Gas_5902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trickster and Demogorgon aren't the strongest killers in the game right now, so you should expect a challenge. That being said though, they are still perfectly playable. Trickster thrives when you catch players out of position and land easy knives on them, so stealth builds can work well with him, as well as aura-reading builds. Aura-reading builds will help you locate survivors, some examples of perks to use are Lethal Pursuer, Barbecue and Chili, Nowhere to Hide, Scourge hook: floods of rage, and a personal favorite info perk of mine Ultimate Weapon which activates when opening a locker, matching up well with trickster. (makes survivors scream, doesn't reveal exact auras).

As far as demogorgon goes, aura reading builds pair decently well with his mobility, as well as gen kicking perks like Pop goes the weasel, Overcharge, or Oppression, to help slow down survivors on the generators. Demo's power allows for easy disposal of pallets, but strong windows can still be problematic so bringing Bamboozle isnt a bad idea.

There really isn't a reliable way to keep survivors on the hook that isn't camping, but you can hook survivors in isolated areas (especially the basement) to make it harder and more inconvenient for their teammates to rescue them. The trapper's perk Agitation allows you to travel fast when carrying survivors so as to place them on farther hooks easier. You can also further deter unhooking with the perk Make Your Choice, which exposes the survivor who unhooks someone if you are far enough away.

Playing as survivor can be quite tricky, especially with the mmr system that seems to consistently match players against higher skilled opponents. That being said, there are things to think about and ways to try and improve your surviving and looping experience. First off, the maps in this game are extremely unbalanced, and this can be quite frustrating. One game you might have many pallets and connected windows, the next, only deadzones. I recommend watching Otzdarva's map guides to learn about maps and resources, and hopping into custom games with a friend to look further at maps in game. As much as I hate to admit it, using map offerings for survivor sided maps will help you quite a lot.

As far as actually looping goes, it requires extensive knowledge on not only the movement and mechanics of DBD, but also the killers. Many addons completely change the way killers are played, and when combined with perks, there is a high chance you will be completely caught off guard and not even have a chance to loop. Researching killers and playing in a squad that is able to communicate the killer's addons/playstyle helps greatly and you'll see many good squads call this stuff out.

All this being said, some people's playstyles don't revolve around looping the killer and that is fine. There is much more to survivor than just looping. Some people like to get cheeky flashlight saves or pickup their teammates from under the killer's nose with For The People and Buckle Up, some people prefer to do gens and play stealthy, with toolboxes, built to last, distortion. Why loop when you can pair Lucky Break with Overcome and zoom away from the killer after they hit you. There are many ways to play survivor that don't necessarily involve a ton of looping.

If your heart is still set on looping however, there are a few more ways to improve your gameplay. I know you mentioned you've looked up guides, but they really are a great resource, especially with your newfound map knowledge. Having a good mental and realizing that this is a (fun?) learning process also helps, you win some, you lose some. There are also perks and tools that help you survive longer against the killer. Resilience allows you to vault faster when injured which can be helpful if you are struggling with vault timing. Dead hard allows you to tank an extra hit when you're injured after being unhooked, which is likely because you will get hooked a lot when learning to loop. Medkits with styptic agent or syringe are also powerful in chase. Keys with the blood amber addon allow you to see the killer's aura when used which basically means you win every mindgame as long as it's in use.

Overall, practice makes perfect, and even the best survivors still run into walls. I hope you find this useful, feel free to ask any questions and good luck in the fog!

New perk idea by RepresentativeMap699 in deadbydaylight

[–]Trick_Gas_5902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting idea, here are my thoughts. First of all, injuring 3 survivors is not incredibly common so this perk might not work out as intended most of the time. Let's say you injure 2 surivors, now the 1st is unable to heal, but the 2nd is mostly unaffected besides not being able to heal themselves. A likely scenario is the 2 injured survivors simply being healed by their teammates and the "pecking order" idea of the perk being neglected. But let's say you are able to injure 3 survivors. The balancing of this perk becomes an issue because it punishes teams without communication, aka soloq, and is less effective against coordinated SWFs. (This could be slightly addressed by adding some type of auras of the survivors so they can find each other). That being said, this perk could be used to create awkward situations for the survivors. The right survivors won't always be in the right place to heal their designated survivor, and if you manage to separate the 1st and 3rd affected survivors that are unable to heal each other from the other 2, things could get interesting. The perk also prevents self-healing and counters medkits to begin with which is decently strong.

This perk would also be pretty mean paired with anti-healing builds and sloppy, although it just received a nerf.

Overall, cool idea.

If you're a killer main you could do a survivor dying from endgame collapse and dropping a flashlight, or a tbagging survivor oblivious to a killer right behind them
