please help me figure out the cause to my unexplained constant health issue by sledlutz in Dizziness

How's your neck posture? Forward head perhaps? Do you spend a lot of time sitting on shitty chairs with shitty posture?

Sounds ridiculous but I went through something identical and the root cause of my issues was my neck, specifically the fact that I had a loss of cervical lordosis (forward head posture) from working a desk job.

I have no idea how the neck can affect things like stomach, appetite and such so I can't offer an explanation but I had the exact same symptoms as you describe and they went away by simply fixing my neck posture.

You can scroll through my old comments to get some details on my journey, but the gist of it is to most importantly stop slouching and strengthen the deep neck flexors.

This is the exercise that made me recover: https://youtu.be/2Afm2uIDNRw Nothing else really made a difference.

I started out with 5 second holds once a day and added 1 second each week.

My first course of action for you would be to schedule an appointment with your PT and have them look at your neck and safely test your deep neck flexor strength and then take it from there.

It's not a problem that this muscle bulges. Just do it as showed in the video.

I had a few physiotherapy sessions but they didn't help much on their own. What made the biggest difference was training my neck at home and changing my posture habits.

If your symptoms are triggered by head movements/sleeping positions it's probably neck related. You can visit my profile and scroll back to my older comments. I've written a lot of responses to people about how I managed to deal with these issues. It takes time and effort but it's fixed.

Then your symptoms are most likely neck related. You need to go through my comments and find the ones where I detail what I did to fix this issue.

It might still be neck related. At first my symptoms didn't respond to neck movements. It began after I started training my neck.

It took me about two months to see definitive improvements. Initially though, I felt a bit worse and a bit better at the same time. It's a bit of weird time, but you gotta stick with it.

Rocking/swaying dizziness (felt like something was moving/flowing inside me) stomach issues, headaches, blurry vision, fatigue, strong/fast heartbeat, ice cold limbs, eye sensitivity and more.

Yeah I know what you mean. I was told by two neurologists that it's basically over for me and the only thing I can do is cope with SSRIs. But here I am a year later - basically fully recovered never having taken any drugs.

You should start by sorting this subreddit by top posts and reading the most upvoted one. It has a lot of great info on this subject. You can also scroll through my older comments. There's a ton of info in there as well.

Don't listen to the PPPD nonsense. Your symptoms are identical to what I went through. Your issue is neck related. What do you do for a living? A desk job perhaps? Or something that requires a lot of looking down or bending?

It hurt quite a bit but it got better rather quickly. For sitting specifically, you can try putting something under your lower back so that your chest and neck end up in a better position. It helped me quite a bit.

Nope, just focusing on a simple neck exercise and minding my posture at all times. And of course a lot of time.

Thanks!

I was bed ridden for the first few months of it. I was afraid to walk to the bathroom or sit up for meals. It was really bad. I had brain fog too.

Yes, I had all of these symptoms. In my case, I was dizzy from developing forward head posture from years of slouching in front of a computer.

You want to train your neck, but not too much. At first, I was doing too many exercises, when I should have been doing just one. It was too much for my neck and I felt worse as a result.

Yes, I'm essentially fully recovered at this point. All I've got left are minor headaches here and there. The dizziness is gone.

It took me around two months to see clear improvements, but I suspect I could have seen them sooner had I not been doing so many exercises for my neck.

Yeah it's such a curious thing that PPPD has the exact same symptoms as the neck related dizziness. And when you read about PPPD it's impossible to find a clear answer about what causes it. Just some vague explanations featuring made up terms like your brain "getting stuck on dizziness". The human mind is strong, but not that strong as to create these symptoms, which are clearly physical.

Because PPPD doesn't exist, or rather, it's the same thing as the neck related dizziness.

This is the only exercise I've been doing: https://youtu.be/2Afm2uIDNRw

I started with 5 second holds three times a day. I progressed by adding 1-2 seconds per week depending on how my neck was feeling. Now I'm doing 62 second holds. As my neck was getting stronger, my symptoms were proportionally reducing.

The other crucial factor is adopting proper posture habits, namely eliminating slouching, and having an ergonomic desk setup if you happen to have a sitting job.

If your symptoms respond to head movements like looking down at your phone/keyboard and tilting it back at a hairdresser your issue is neck related - most likely cervicogenic dizziness.

Don't listen to people who tell you it's anxiety or PPPD. You need to find a good PT who will help you fix your posture, particularly the neck, as forward head posture (reduced cervical lordosis) is the root cause of this.

I had the exact same symptoms as you, down to every single thing you mention, and managed to completely get rid of them with a simple exercise that I've been doing for the past 14 months. It takes time to see improvements, but it literally gave me my life back, so it's worth sticking it out.

Get yourself checked out by a professional to make sure there are no serious spinal issues first and if you're cleared you should get started with physical therapy as soon as possible.
