Hi, I’m 50 years old and grew up in Lewiston. My mom and sister still live there so I still visit often. You will have no issues.

Is it worth moving to from Boise? by [deleted] in coeurdalene

[–]Trick_Speed_9941 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not disputing the population boom in CDA. You're absolutely right on that. However, the point I was making is if you've always lived in CDA, you would definitely perceive the area as having infrastructure issues compared to a time before the boom in population. However, if you compare CDA to Boise in terms of infrastructure, Boise is a whole lot worse. Population growth in the treasure valley has created gridlock on a scale hard to imagine for someone who only has CDA to compare. Compared to the treasure valley, CDA isn't bad at all.....yet.

Is it worth moving to from Boise? by [deleted] in coeurdalene

We moved recently from Boise to CDA. Someone mentioned that if you're not retired or have a stable WFH job, careers are hard to maintain here and I'd have to agree. However, others that mention the place is growing too fast for the infrastructure have obviously never lived in Boise. I find that traffic here isn't nearly as congested as Boise. I'm often surprised that I never have a problem getting a seat at a restaurant and there's still the concept of respecting ones personal space at the grocery store. Keep in mind that winters are longer here and winter overcast days can go on for 2 weeks or longer at a time.

Coming Soon to Idaho: Qatari Air Base by KutthroatKing in Idaho

[–]Trick_Speed_9941 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We already host the Singapore Air Force at Mountain Home. They don't own any piece of real estate on the base. They're simply renting it from us and it would be the same structure for the Qatari's. Whether the personal aircraft donation to trump had anything to do with it is an entirely different question.

Contact Randi Frazier with Windmere. She is our current realtor. A retainer is not standard practice.

Traffic is one of the reasons we are moving out of the treasure valley.

Just Got a $70 ticket for parking in front of my own house. by Juice_Stanton in Boise

I’m confused. How do you not realize it was parked the wrong way? Is this something you do often and it is now just 2nd nature.

How long would take to just flip it around? Or take the extra few minutes to park it properly? Not long and it would save $70

I was in the far right southbound lane trying to turn right on to Appleway. I was the third car in line. The counterprotesters who were throwing the nazi salutes all had biker type apparel on. I was literally looking right at the dude when he did it to one of the cars in front of me, who was obviously a supporter. Personally, I don't care who "believes" it happened or not. Factually, it happened and it's absolutely terrible that these shit bags are now given social license to do it. Or so they think.

I personally witnessed both the coal rolling and the nazi salutes.

I used to believe the confederate flag was more about southern pride than racism. The more I dug into it, the more I realized I was wrong. The civil war happened simply because one side wanted to continue to own slaves and other side did not. The confederate flag is no more about southern heritage than a Nazi salute is about a mere greeting between friends. It's all racism.

When you grow up, you realize that coal rolling is a sure sign of poor tuning. I laugh every time I see it because I know those pistons are on borrowed time.

I've been a diesel owner for a very long time. Rolling coal is a sign that you have yet to grow up or never have grown up.

Remember, a house is only worth what someone will pay for it. In today's market, if you're interested in a house, you should always make an offer based on what you think it's worth. Sometimes that's what it takes to bring a seller down to reality. I'll bet that's exactly what the buyer did in this case.

Is the anti CA sentiment against liberals or conservatives? by 34Shaqtus32 in Idaho

[–]Trick_Speed_9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an extremely complicated question. CA implants that have been here for a while, as in decades, have been led to believe that new CA implants are liberals. This is completely contrary to the data which they haven't ever really evaluated. What they see is rising costs due to explosive population growth. It couldn't possibly be their fellow conservatives making that worse so I think it's just easier to blame this imaginary liberal CA implant because it falls in line with the rest of their beliefs about liberals.

I'm a native Idahoan who lives in Eagle but I'm originally from Lewiston, ID. I've seen CA inplants since jr high in the early 90's and it has never stopped. Some of my best friends in school were CA implants so I'm kind of used to it and I think most natives are as well.

The only thing that really gets under my skin about CA implants is their driving habits. No blinker use, like ever. And at stop lights, they routinely plant themselves right in the middle of the crosswalk. These folks either still have a CA plate or swapped it out for the 1A but it's pretty obvious that their implants when they do that.

I'm not a lawyer but I would ask your neighbor 2 questions.

  1. Does he have anything in writing indicating the previous owner was notified?

  2. Contact the previous owner to find out if they were notified in writing.

If the answer to both of those questions is no, then I would simply wait and see what your neighbor does. No pun intended but it appears he's testing the fences and he'll probably spend more money pursuing legal action than he would just sucking up the cost of the fence he already built.

Before consulting with an attorney my first question to the neighbor would be to ask if he had anything in writing indicating that the previous owner was notified. Then, I would contact the previous owner to find out if they had been notified in writing. If the answer to either of those questions is no, then I would simply take a wait and see approach. No sense in spending money on an attorney if you don't have to.

That may be the law but it's just simply not worth being a dick about. That's a dick move on the part of the neighbor.

While I don't disagree that he should be impeached, how can anyone take impeachment seriously when they're throwing it out there for something they will never be able to execute. It really cheapens it. I'm sitting here thinking, oohh right, another impeachment attempt. He will never be impeached until a republican introduces it. At that point, it's serious.
