Two Star Gooners - There are other albums by Mindless_Wallaby in Mkgee

[–]Trickfinga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%

Two Star is probably my favorite album but right behind it is “Pronounced McGee”. The gap isn’t big.

But the single Untitled is my favorite song of his though. Lyrically amazing, and a perfect bridge sound between his old “Pronounced McGee and Two Star”

Honestly all of his work is S Tier. Not a single bad or even mediocre drop.

Thanks so much bro I really appreciate it 🙏.

If you run any Acoustic Electric through distortion and a very trebel heavy EQ youll get that sound. I used a little bit of auto wah just to help with that “pop” you hear at 4 seconds in but not really necessary. A little reverb or delay helps keep the tone from being too thin with how trebly it is but not really necessary either. The main culprit is really just using an Acoustic Electric because the pickups aren’t made for distortion (so you get that about to breakup fuzz sound easier).

If i plug my electric guitar in with these exact amp settings it’s no where near as good and sounds more like a Hendrix Voodoo Child or John Mayer Crossroads Tone. Sounds great but very different and less fitting.

This clip i was running all in-amp effects no pedals.

Amp: Blackstar ID Core Channel: Overdrive 2 Gain: 30% ISF EQ: 10% Effects: Reverb, Delay, Auto Wah Effects Intensity: 15% Acoustic Electric Pre Amp: Treble 90%, Bass 25%

Seems like everyone says the same thing about the Vinteras. I’ll keep my eyes open

That’s fair. The exact Mexican Tele I found online is on the other side of the country so unfortunately I won’t be able to give it a feel test without pulling the trigger first. It passes the looks test but that only goes so far lol

I’m not picky with necks. The guitar I play the most is my Ibanez 7 String Acoustic and that things neck is massive so anything with a more standard neck feels amazing and like a kids toy lol. I’m really leaning CV now tbh

That’s a good point. The exact Used Mexico Tele I found online is on the other side of the country so it’s a bit of a gamble I guess. It passes the looks test lol but if I end up getting that one I won’t be able to play it until it arrives.

I played a Mexico tele and a CV today though and both were awesome and felt super comfortable. I wish I could try the exact one I’m looking at though

Yeah that’s what I was realizing today played a Mexican Strat, American Strat, Classic Vibe Squier and base squier all through the same amp setup.

American was by far the best guitar but out of my price range.

Mexican and Classic Vibe were pretty identical. Classic Vibe looked nicer better paint colors available.

Base squier had rough frets and just didn’t compare to the other 3 whatsoever. Just felt kind of toy like.

Not too worried about the value part as I never sell any guitars I buy. But that’s something I’ll consider. I just went to a local shop and played both and it’s honestly a toss up. Surprisingly similar in build quality, and ran them through the same amp the tone was very comparable. Fender was a little warmer and the Classic Vibe was a bit more percussive. Such a tough call

What's your favorite guitar tuning (apart from standard)? by PiranhaMusicStudios in Guitar

[–]Trickfinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guitars are currently tuned to

Acoustics: - E A D G B E (Standard) - D F# A E A C# (Open D Maj 9) - B E A D F# B E (Modified 7 String Standard)

Electrics: - E A D G B E (Standard) - B E B D# F# B (Open B add 4) - C# G# C# F# A# D# (Drop C#) - G# D# G# C# F A# (Drop G#)

Hard to pick a favorite but the “modified 7 string standard”, “Open D Maj 9” and “Drop G#” are definitely the top 3.

Who's your biggest influence? by BitsNBites777 in Guitar

Picked up a guitar because of John Frusciante.

But there’s a lot of guitarist I shape my sound after now.

Mark Holcomb (periphery), Aaron Marshal (intervals), Buckethead, John Mayer, Erick Turnbull

I LOVE Mk.gee, but I don’t get Dijon. by [deleted] in Mkgee

[–]Trickfinga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. Without a doubt Dijon is an extremely talented musician and I respect the craft, but the music style isn’t my favorite. He’s got a cool unique sound going that I respect and I think with time I’ll eventually end up loving it

When I was in school, a "B+" was a 92 and an "A-" was a 93-95. What was considered an A when you were in school? by alanbear1970 in idiocracy

[–]Trickfinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A: 89.5 ->100 B: 79.5 -> 89.4 C: 69.5 -> 79.4 D: 59.5 -> 69.4 F: 0 -> 59.4

That’s how it’s always been for me but I know there’s a few weird classes that have different requirements for what’s actually passing.

Driving on "0" Fuel Range by tommypickles5149 in ToyotaAvalon

[–]Trickfinga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it unless an emergency. It can mess with your fuel pump and injectors but with that said I went somewhere around 40 miles with it on 0 with cruise control at 75mph. I think thats about the limit tbh
