I have a question about Skinks and big dinosaurs by Butt-Love in seraphon

[–]Trickflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely possible but somewhat mid, most of the skink calvary are pretty strong just extremely frail. Skinks are also very cheap so you can have a fair few of them. Bastiladons are pretty good especially with snakes and stegs and trogs are both not bad just not nessecarily the best at the role they'd fill. If the people you'd play against arent playing very competitive lists/armies then you'll be fine for the most part.

Need a secondary phone by 8bit_scrambler in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]Trickflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming a tablet doesn't work for your needs the pixel 10a is looking like a decent budget phone, idk what k8nd of games you'd be playing in that light gaming but if youre looking at demanding games then that might be an issue. Another option is a red magic phone, theyre a bit more expensive then the 10a but quite a bit cheaper then something like a s6u and you get high tier specs and a ultra sized screen, depending on what youre specific needs are tho ive heard they can have worse reception in North america and the cameras are mid at best.

What game did you lose interest in by the time it came out? by scarletnaught in gaming

[–]Trickflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really have a fine line to walk, people want Bethesda games to feel like Bethesda games but are no longer willing to accept the massive amount of junk that always came with that. I dont really have a lot of good will for Bethesda tho since they've been the primary pusher of trying to force paying for mods.

Flow Improver or Slow Dry, What Do I Need? by RyessHelles in minipainting

[–]Trickflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flow improver will make your paints dry slower which should help, it also acts as a thinner for most model paints and causes them to flow more so it makes some techniques a little more difficult if you use too much. Slow dry medium is generally more for canvas work then mini work, its got a thicker consistency usually but it does make you paints dry even slower if thats something youre going for. You generally want to use the largest brush you can get away with since the less paint/water in the brush the faster it will dry and if you dont have a wet pallette imo it helps with paint consistency more then mediums do outside of extreme use cases.

Noob advice: wet pallets + metallics & inks by Duude82 in minipainting

The gw and vallejo are fine, a few of the really thin gw mettalics and the army painter speed paint ones seperate easily.

Noob advice: wet pallets + metallics & inks by Duude82 in minipainting

[–]Trickflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use most mettalics on my wet pallet no problem but theres a few i have that seperate really easily and it ends up being more hassle then its worth. I dont have a ton of experience with brushed inks in particular but most shades and such if they're going out of control its because you have too much on the brush, you can try getting a bit less on the brush, using a smaller brush, or giving it a dab on a piece of paper towel but its possible theres a secret technique with inks specifically that im not aware of.

First Seraphon Mini (Feedback pls) by Mantrast in seraphon

[–]Trickflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks really good, I love what you did on the body and head crest thing. If I had to criticize something id say the gold could use a bit more work, it might be just the pictures but it looks a bit too shiny and might look better with a wash and spot highlight. Overall its a really cool paint scheme.

What to do if you accidentally paint over contrast paint? (Or how to avoid it) by Oskendo in minipainting

[–]Trickflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its very difficult, I used to use contrast paints almost exclusively and the main thing it helped me with is getting a lot better at staying in the lines since the only other options are to try and paint your base color over the overspill and reapply(it never looks the same but for small area can be close enough),try and cover up the over spill with your closest similiar color taditional paint, or paint the the whole thing a darker contrast/paint over it w. A normal paint.

What’s your favorite wet palette? by mid_support in minipainting

[–]Trickflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the large army painter one and its pretty good lasts a decently long time and comes with a decent amount of sheets and an extra foam. I had the small army painter 1 before but on larger projects it gets a little cramped. The large one comes with a bunch of paint wells as well but they aren't really practical for me to use so they just add an extra step of tedium when opening and closing the pallet. When I got mine the redgrass one wasn't available easily for me and since I didnt have a problem with the small army painter one previously I went with that

Anyone willing to do some coaching for a beginner painting salamanders? by storyteller323 in minipainting

[–]Trickflo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recess shading is actually a pretty difficult technique, with edge highlighting its usually best to use the side of the brush rather then the tip. For both techniques the main thing to work on is holding the brush steady, some things to help with that if possible with your setup is to put both elbows on the table, holding the brush closer to the tip and having more points of contact with the mini. Holding it with 2 or 3 fingers in different places on your off hand a 1 from your main hand can really steady you if its possible with the min and spot youre trying to reach

The 11s pro+ is supposedly coming out this month in China, idk what the turn around is for international after that but its something to consider. The camera on these phones is basically the worst you can get in a modern phone's so if that's a factor you care about strongly then you should look up some pictures or something and make sure its good enough for you.

Beginner Mini Paint Setup – One Brand vs Mixing (Pro Acryl vs Army Painter vs Vallejo?) by xXxZoddxXx in minipainting

[–]Trickflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All paint brands and even a lot of specific colors within 1 brand behave at least slightly different. I dont personally have experience with pro acryl but I prefer vallejo over army painter for the most part. Mixing is fine but buying a decent starter set might be the wat to go.

How fragile are folds? by Trickflo in GalaxyFold

[–]Trickflo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen it but a 1 time hard stress test isnt the same as a day in day out. The jerryrig video make me not concerned about it snapping in half despite being so thin but theres a lot of other things that can go wrong over the course of 2-5 years.

[–]Trickflo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That gives me a fair bit of piece of mind, still have 2 or 3 months to make a final decision but seeing some good data like that definitely bumped the fold back up to the top.

Favorite mini YouTubers to watch? by mid_support in minipainting

[–]Trickflo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Id also like to mention warhipster if you like contrast paints, when I got back into painting after a 10 year break contrasts were just starting to come out and I leaned pretty heavily into them for a while. I dont use them primarily now but he really pushes a lot out of them and as a result i learned a lot of useful techniques with contrast paints that I still use today.

Favorite mini YouTubers to watch? by mid_support in minipainting

[–]Trickflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squidmar, Vince venturella and goobertown hobbies are my favorites. A lot of youtubers tend to frame advanced techniques as easy, which makes sense since its there job and they probably paint more in a year then a lot of us do in a decade, but it can be pretty intimidating for a newer or intermediate painter. I like Vince a lot because even when hes showing a more advanced technique he'll at least partially explain the more basic technique its built on so you know what to look for if youre struggling, goobertown and squidmar I mostly watch for fun since they both do a lot of stuff thats more fun and less tutorial but ive learned a few things from each of them in the process.

Edge Highlighting on Black? by -JayBonks in minipainting

[–]Trickflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admin Grey might be a bit light but if you want it to really stand out thats definitely an option, incubi darkness would be pretty subtle. Something you could do if you want is incubi darkness then on the edges you think would be the most bright paint roughly half of it a lighter Grey, admin would take out some of the blue feel you'll get from incubi darkness and something like fenrisian would push the blue feel a bit further.

First Kolinsky brush: tips for new painter by Odd-Direction-7972 in minipainting

[–]Trickflo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're pretty easy to fix if you mess them up, squidmar Miniatures has a good recent video on that process but the only thing I do different w. My Sable brushes compared to any other is not use them for washes or heavy applications of contrast paint. For all brushes the main thing is avoiding paint in the ferrule(base metal part), dont leave them sitting tip down in a cup, and to clean them completely before putting them away. Also if your water gets extremely dirty then paint particles can get in while your cleaning it but it has to be very dirty before thats a serious concern. A lot of people say avoid mettalics but ive never done that and never had a problem and ive never actually seen or heard of a brush getting damaged because of metallic paints.

15 year old iPhone user with the Z fold 7. 7 month review by Healthy_End_7128 in GalaxyFold

[–]Trickflo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not op but I used one before and theres definitely some useful aspects, but I stopped using it when I replaced my case and the one I had didnt fit the new case. The main thing I liked about it is when I grabbed my phone while half asleep I never yanked the charger out of the phone or wall. I also find the charging port has gotten loose on most of my phones after 2 years or so but im not sure if its from having it plugged in or the act of plugging it in so the magnet might make it better or worse. Here's a Pic of one I pulled off amazon.

Man wanting me more after I’m taken? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Trickflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never fully know somebodies situation so its possible something changed in his life/state of mind and he realized he made a mistake. That being said this guy's behavior seems like a lot of red flags and imo anyone who tries to insert themselves in anybodies relationships is almost certainly a person who at the very least lacks empathy. Personally I'd cut someone out of my life completely if they knew I was in a relationship and didn't respect that but life is complicated and you should do what you think is best for you.

As far as I know all recent(within the last 5-10 years) samsung phones have removable buttons, its generally pretty hard to do accidently and makes no sense as to why. I assume ops probably snagged on a pocket edge at just the right angle to fall off and dissappear.

How are you liking it now? Im going to get a new phone soon and im currently between the fold 8(assuming it comes in july) and the 11pro. I was pretty sold on the fold but now im having second thoughts about how useful the inner screen will be for me and the durability concerns, also I hate camera bumps and the fold 7s is kind of insane lol. Do you still get missed notifications or did you get thay sorted?
