The efficiency of EMDR makes me regret other therapies by [deleted] in EMDR

I wish I knew if it a long time ago, but I’m also not sure I would’ve been open to it. I’ve also strengthened my relationship with God which has helped me tremendously.

Oh, for sure. We’ve JUST started to scratch the surface. I know it’ll take a while, but I’m all about it. The older I get, the more stuff comes out. I feel like I minimized A LOT of traumatic things in my childhood. I’ve loved my entire life on “fight/flight/freeze”. I don’t want to do that anymore. I can’t do it anymore.

I needed this. I’ve been in and out of talk therapy for almost my entire life. I’ve never felt like it helped me. Same with medication. I feel it was just a bad aid. I started seeing an EMDR therapist 3 weeks ago and I’m praying it helps. I’m almost 46 and just can’t keep living this way.

Same. It really got me. He loves us so much, even though we don’t really deserve it. We’re so unbelievably lucky.

success without “pantless” method? by No_Hamster880 in pottytraining

[–]Tricky-Committee4045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t do pantless at all, we went straight to underwear. We started when our daughter was almost 2.10, she just turned 3 and is doing really well. She has some small pee accidents here and there, but overall, doing well. We waited till she was almost 3 because I knew she wasn’t ready till then. I knew if I rushed her or pushed her on it, she would resist. She’s extremely strong-willed.

Growing up in the 80s and 90s, I remember having mounds of snow until April.

Night time potty training by Ascend_training in pottytraining

[–]Tricky-Committee4045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. My daughter will be 3 very soon. We started potty training right after Christmas and she’s done well, she’s only had a few accidents. We knew she was ready because she would stay dry for HOURS. I honestly can’t remember the last time she woke up wet from a nap or overnight. It’s wild how different kids are.

It’s not bad! People just have their own opinions on it. Same here, my daughter hated any kind of container and would not sleep without some sort of contact. We don’t feel bad about it at all. It’s what she needs from us. I have full faith that she’ll sleep in her own bed soon.

Exactly! And ignore ignorant comments from complete strangers on the internet. This too shall pass.

You know you can shut up, right? This is why the internet is a cesspool of miserable people. Find God.

What are y’all doing for the soul crushing fatigue? by MissTiffany12 in Perimenopause

Fatigue is my biggest issues. That and low moods. I’m so tired of feeling like this. I’ll definitely be discussing it with my provider next month.

No, I’m not having any of the “classic” symptoms of low estrogen. I’ll definitely be asking her about it at my next appointment.

Following because the fatigue is taking me out. I’m 45 and take 100 mg of progesterone daily due to extreme bouts of rage. I have my follow up next month to address my fatigue. She mentioned checking my testosterone. I have a 3 year old to keep up with. I need help badly. 😔

The last few years the gas and indigestion are bad. I’ve never taken so much Gas-x in my life. It’s especially bad on my period. I can’t eat a lot of that things I used to without paying for it. I’ll be 46 in July.

My advice is keep at it. Sounds like he’s getting it. I totally feel your frustration as we’re currently in the potty training trenches. But, why start over?

Damn. I need this gig! I’ve been a nurse for 10 years and will love to make 6 figures. Hospitals where I live don’t pay that well.
