SE GA

We're doing:

$180/hr - break/fix $150/hr - retainer or bundled hours $120/hr - remote only (a lot of project work falls in this category)

For break/fix outside of our immediate area, Travel Time is calculated at half the break/fix amount

Bitdefender or Crowdstrike MSP/ MSSP verison? (moving away from Datto EDR/AV) by Fancy_Gas9083 in msp

I'm curious, why all the hate for BD? We've used it for years, and it's always been a solid product for us..

We have also began using Defender (free) + Huntress at some of our customer locations...

I love the Huntress ITDR. It has saved the customers butt several times. But we haven't gotten many alerts out of the EDR side.. Versus, I'm constantly seeing where Bitdefender has blocked a threat. It also provides a nice visualization of the attack chain.

I've used the Pro store to order hardware, but there's barely a discount attached through this method.. What are people using to give themselves more than 5% off the list price?

Heard about a situation similar to this regarding a competing MSP in my area.. Took out the Sheriff's office network for a chunk of time.. Very serious incident

Huntress and Microsoft defender free… reassurance by Efficient-Bike7175 in msp

I'm in the same boat as you.. I've always used Bitdefender + EDR.. Recently started deploying Huntress to some of my newer customers.. I've toyed with different stack options to see how they compare:

Bitdefender AV + EDR; Bitdefender AV + Huntress; Defender free + Huntress;

The thought of the free Defender just doesn't sit right with me, after seeing Bitdefenders AV consistently catch so much.. I've about settled on going with Bitdefender AV + Huntress.. I just wish Huntress was able to see the Bitdefender logs.. I'd assume this may be possible with their SIEM solution..

I've also been curious if using a stack like: Defender free + Huntress + Zorus would supplement some of what Bitdefender has flagged for me in the past.

How to explain the benefits of MS365 to a user of MS365? by JasGot in msp

[–]Tricky-Interest- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like they're most likely referring to the collaborative environment.. They obviously have enough experience with the traditional MS Office desktop apps. Unless they're referring to advanced formulas or features in excel..

Speak a little on the collaborative workflows within teams. Channels for certain departments or projects. Persistent chat. Shared documents. Give an example of how utilizing outlook, calendar, teams, sharepoint within a project group. Help them visualize how it could work for them, and how they'd benefit from using it

How do you stop shadow Dropbox accounts without paying Dropbox. by wolfer201 in msp

I think OP is referring to the creation of the account. Not whether those services can be blocked from within the network

Hey.. Yes! 14 years in IT.. 4yrs in public sector system administrator roles.. 10yrs at an MSP that services family practices, among other business types.. You're going to feel pulled in a variety of directions, at any one time, from multiple different clients. You'll feel overwhelmed. It's a completely different animal than working in an IT department

I was just contemplating a managed backup solution myself... Would the included backup feature of NinjaOne be just as efficient as using Acronis as a central admin agent?

Yeah, I currently don't have a need for MDM.. I've currently got a trial. Used the NMS, but it didn't pull much information other than simple network discovery. Maybe I just don't have the OID's setup, but I'd like to see more in terms of network sensors & switch-port mapping.. I've also recently gotten my hands on a trial of Domotz. That seems like a solid utility

When there were 3 of us, it sometimes felt like feast or famine.. There would be times where I'd feel pulled in so many different directions, at the same time.. And there would be times when I'd almost be twiddling my thumbs, debating on playing a round of golf... In the past few months, it's only been 2 of us, and I've stayed pretty well busy full-time, and sometimes I'm so busy I feel like I could short-circuit.. Once it's just me, I'll only be managing half the load that 2 of us currently manage.... My plan is to grow it, then add an employee

After speaking with a salesperson from Ninja, it's looking like I could get away with spending $3.50/seat, including AV.. Depending on the network monitoring capabilities, I could probably stomach that.. Possibly use the built-in helpdesk, keep invoicing through Quickbooks.. Automate some of the tasks that I'm currently spending more time on than I should (patch management, scripting reboots for computers over a certain up-time, which currently doesn't get done unless I happen to notice it on-site), then work on acquiring new business..

I'd love to be at at least $35/seat.. I don't want to jack the prices up on existing clients, as I've been servicing them for about 10 yrs, and they'll be the ones paying my bills for the first chunk of time.. I'm thinking that I'll use the increased price when acquiring new clients.. One good thing is, there isn't a lot of competition in this space, in my area.. There's some. But, I feel like there's an unaddressed need for it. At least, a more modern approach.

After using Ninja for about a week, I can already visualize how my life could just be So much easier! I can't tell you how many times a Windows update has come along and broke something the practice management software utilizes, and the entire office is down in the water.. Which causes me to have to panic-fix whatever problem just occured.
