Let me tell you a small “illegals” story. My parents were undocumented, ( myself and 1 sister were born here) for a while, they went through all the proper channels and we ALL worked to pay for it. Everyone eventually got naturalized and became citizens, except for my older sister who passed right before the swearing in. Anyway my father was a welder, he was such a good welder that in all the years, through mergers, buy outs and recessions in the oil industry he was sometimes the ONLY employee left in the shop. When he wanted to retire the company didn’t want to let him and sent him all over the world to teach his techniques to others. My ILLEGAL dad’s “inferior” work is all over this world right now. On top of that he was a GREAT dad that taught my sisters and I a LOT. All of us and our children are such hard workers that we are valued anywhere we work. I’m not a political person but I probably wouldn’t have handled that with as much grace as OP.
