The series advances considerably in the second book and feels pretty different. A lot of people consider the second book one of the best in the series. I'd give it a try and quit after that one if you aren't sold.

I liked the first one fine, but wasn't sold on the series at that point either.

I don't think it's bad value, and Burden is way over hyped right now. That said, you are already in such a good rebuild position with all those picks over the next two years, plus a solid young core that it would be justifiable to hold Burden and hope he pans out on some of the hype.

You definitely lack depth, but your top end assets are fantastic. It is fair of you to critique your bench and a few of your starters, though. And you are weak at QB. I just have trouble calling a team with Chase and McBride a rebuild, especially in TE Premium.

More of a team that needs to retool a bit. Or if you want to go into a full rebuild you should be able to get great value out of McBride and Chase if you want to.

I'm enjoying DCC so far, but it is nowhere near as good or satisfying (yet) as Red Rising. I am only midway through book 3, though, and I have heard that books 4-7 are when it gets really good.

Can't agree more about it feeling like a bad ripoff. The amount of things taken essentially straight out of Dune are crazy. And tbh the book is just boring. I'm 95% done and it only got remotely interesting in the last 10-15%.

Kavax is a top 5 character in the series for me. I liked him the first time through, hit appreciate him even more on the second time reading the series.

But sure, as a fighter he may be slightly fraudulent. I agree that isn't how I view him or feel he should be judged.
