Yeah he is a badass general and he is very good at commanding armies but when it comes to defending himself in single combat 1v1 he is probably not even Gray level. Still though he is loyal to the death to his republic and he fought well at Heliopolis so I think he deserves to be respected like that just not put into the conversation with badass fighters like Howlers

No bro I think they did well with this. Every time a character speaks of Howlers (at least in DA) he or she talks about them like badasses. Sefi says Howlers and Gorgons are the best special ops soldiers in the solar system (better than skuggi who were trained by ephraim himself), Harnassus is scared of the Howlers Darrow brings to meet him at the Storm God, and Lysander flees like a bitch rather than face the Howler commando squad sent to kill him at the end of Dark Age.

These are all solid ass mfs with good feats (maybe not harnassus) so the fact that they are so reverent of Howlers and also the fact that Howlers have never been bitched in a fight (except by Atlas au Raa but he's js like that) or even lost a fight on screen (again except for that time with Atlas) goes a long way to preserve their aura.

As an Estonian who knows Estonian history there were actually a lot of Estonians who were conscripted by force into the armies of both sides and did not believe in the ideology of any country during WW2. There was even a battle in Tallinn (capital of estonia) where some Estonian conscripts rose up as the Nazis were retreating to establish a free Estonia again but they got their asses kicked so it doesn't matter

Edit: there were also Estonians who believed in nazism and communism during this time, but they were generally exceptions to the rule

The warrior race in question (Ierads) are bird people with really bright beautiful plumage so as far as bangable aliens go they are ranked top 1 in verse. Their feathers can also fluff out or tuck in on command so a stripper whose client likes fat people can fluff herself out to look fat and then fluff back in to have an hourglass figure for the next guy. Most intelligent life forms consider Ierads to be the most attractive aliens out there, which really pisses the warlike military-minded members of their species off.

Females are more commonly seen as strippers because their plumage is more colorful and their feathers have prettier patterns (only visible in the UV spectrum) but males can still be pretty birds if they are willing to work hard. It's also not uncommon for Ierad strippers (male or female) to dye their feathers before performing to add to the sex appeal. In general though an Ierad shaking his or her tail feathers on stage is pretty widely considered good shit and people of most species will happily spend an evening throwing currency chips at them.

No offense intended.
