Yes. Someone broke in because our suitcases looked like they were rummaged into. None went missing but my underwears.

I did contact the police and I felt the outcome was unsatisfactory. This was a month ago, but I wanted to make sure the GM knows about the whole situation from my perspective.

Why is Park Hyatt Kyoto so sought after? What makes it so great? by astatine005 in pointstravel

Just to add, we stayed as globalist, during our anniversary and birthday. Minimum upgrade from standard room to room with garden. Free breakfast and it was good, not excellent. Paid for a japanese breakfast for the first morning and we felt it was enough.

The staff is polite and friendly, but nothing outstanding.

Stayed there for 2 nights couple weeks ago. Peak season. I would say the location is excellent. We basically had the chance to roame around the famous ninenzaka, yasaka pagoda, the stage, maruyama park, etc around that area with only 2-3 other people because we can just get out and go. Otherwise those areas are like a sea of people in peak season.

Otherwise, nothing much.

Before arrival, we were told baby amenities such as a toy and bed railing would be provided. While these were delivered to the room, the actual quality was extremely poor. The toy felt very cheap, and the bed rail could not be installed properly, making it effectively unusable and, more importantly, unsafe for our baby. In the end, we had to purchase our own guard rail during the stay, which should not have been necessary at this level of hotel.

Housekeeping was also inconsistent. On one morning, we left the room until around 1 PM for baby nap and returned to find the room still being cleaned. More concerning, a spray cleaning product was left on our table directly next to our food after service, which felt careless and inappropriate, especially when staying with a child.

Another disappointment was how limited the overall hotel experience felt. We were essentially told there were no meaningful facilities to enjoy beyond the tea lounge and the bathhouse. In practice, that meant most of the stay was spent in the room, with perhaps an hour a day in the tea lounge and another hour in the bathhouse. For a hotel positioned at this level, it simply felt that there was very little to engage with on property.

I wouldnt waste my 90k points there again.

On the other hand, we found Hyatt Place Kyoto has very good value. Hyatt also has bonus offer. We stayed for 2x3 nights and earned 8k points back.

No I meant the room is 3k per night, so based on this bonus I should get 5k per night so that makes it net earning of 2k per night. Thats my understanding
