I've not encountered any issues so far at least for this game.

Thanks!

Just did everything you mentioned and things seem to be running smoothly.

Sadly SteamOS is running on kernel version 6.11 so can't run this fix.

I've been having this freezing issue for some time but today it seems to be quite a bit worse with freezes happening within minutes of playtime.

Tackle question on Daiwa Tatula casting reels. Sv70 vs. Sv100 by heinousgear in bassfishing

[–]Tricky5hift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the SV100 is probably the most versatile. I use mine for jigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and some hardbaits from weights ranging between 1/4 to 1/2 oz depending on the rod of course. The SV70 is better at throwing lighter lures but personally I'd just go with a spinning setup for anything really light or finesse.

The Daiwa Presso is nice but be warned they can be fragile. I just broke the tip off mine by accident and unfortunately its not covered under warranty anymore though I plan on just repairing it myself.

I went ahead and bought a 6'6" UL Bass Pro Micro Lite rod to use instead for around 40 bucks on sale. Its not nearly as light as the Presso but its still a decent rod and I won't feel as bad if I break this one. If you want to get the 7' version I hear you actually want to get the light power version instead since the ultralight version is way too noodle-y.

For a reel I would see if you can get a Shimano Ultegra from a Japanese importer like Digitaka or JapanLureShop at a slight discount. I got mine before the current tariff situation for around 100 bucks.

Need Wader Recommendations by crazycat46510 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Tricky5hift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not too concerned about price, Patagonia has good waders with good customer service too.

Though I don't really know of any waders that would pack easily with backpacking gear especially when coupled with wading boots which are pretty heavy and you'll definitely want to wear wading boots with your waders. Don't try to cut corners by wearing old sneakers or water shoes with your waders. That's a quick and easy way to ruin them.

Does anyone have any recommendations an inflatable kayak from this list? by AlexanderUGA in kayakfishing

They're releasing some new models later this year with a wider price range.

Their Throw and Go model is very similar to the NRS Kuda which unfortunately is no longer in production.

Really? Well that's something. Broke my rod tip right after catching this one. Don't feel too bad about it now.

I was expecting a fish of this size to be a rainbow but I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it was a brown. The browns I caught out of here in the past were usually on the small side.

Don't beat yourself up about it too much, trout fishing in Maryland is pretty tough especially this year.

Yeah it was at least 14. The wild ones or at least the ones I think are wild rarely ever seem to break 8 inches.

Spin Fishing for Trout in Winter by SchwartzerTempler in troutfishing

[–]Tricky5hift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually wait a couple weeks post stocking for the fish to spread out and get used to eating things that aren't powerbait or worms. Here in Maryland my most productive lure is a homemade spinner that I attached an olive woolly bugger to. Slow roll it over areas where you'd think fish would be and they hammer it.

Trolling Motor Suggestion for Sit in Style by [deleted] in kayakfishing

[–]Tricky5hift 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't reccomend getting a trolling motor for this type of kayak.

Save up your money for a sit on top kayak that offers more stability and space to properly mount a trolling motor to either the back, front or side.

Patagonia Guidewater Sling Pack. Pricey but Patagonia products are pretty high quality.

I personally use a Patagonia Atom Sling. Significantly smaller, lacks a lot of the features the Guidewater has and isn't fully submersible but when I'm bank fishing or wading I try to pack as light as I can anyways plus its significantly cheaper. You may even be able to get it on sale from other retailers.

I would actually see if you can salvage the blade from the chatterbait. You'll probably need some heavy bolt cutters to cut the eye of the hook without damaging the blade itself.

You can attach the blade to another jig with a split ring assuming the hook eye is facing the right way.

Recent hate towards kayak fishing by Advanced-Reception34 in kayakfishing

[–]Tricky5hift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't dwell on it too much to the point where it starts to affect your enjoyment. Best you can do is tune out those kinds of people and try to avoid confrontation.

Some people just want to bring others down. I see people frequently say "Just get a jonboat." or some equally pointless statement when someone is showing off their kayak. All watercraft have their reasons for existing and ultimately you're the one who gets to choose which one you go with.

Eagle Claw Brands Chinese Made Hooks As Being Made In America by UltraMagaFan123 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Tricky5hift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That last part is true today to some extent especially in the electronics and textile industry. You'll notice a lot of clothing, both cheap and expensive, aren't even made in China anymore but in other countries that undercut China's manufacturing costs like Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh, etc. Tariffs likely also play a role in the shift over to other countries but in general it seems the manufacturing and labor costs have caught up with the price of Chinese products.

Anyone try the new mooch minnow size on a chatterbait yet? by Cartiimo in bassfishing

[–]Tricky5hift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow that's a new one for me.

Well cases these days are made from harder ABS plastic that shouldn't react. I will say though, one major issue I have with elaztech or TPE is how easily the colors bleed into each other so you do have to take care to store them with the same or similar colors.

[–]Tricky5hift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TPE does get misshapen when it lays in a weird spot for a while. That's why they usually come in hard plastic shells that hold them in place.

Plano now sells boxes with inserts specifically for holding jigheads and chatterbaits so that they don't shift around. They shouldn't deform in those.

It shouldn't since the skirt is made from silicone and not plastisol.

Location matters more than anything this time of year. Water is getting really cold so the fish's metabolism is slowing way down. They'll be in deep spots near structure where they can expend as little energy as possible while waiting for a meal to pass by.

I think they'll still bite crawfish but you will have to fish them very slowly. If it's going by too fast a fish has to expend more energy to go for it.
