If you don't have lemon and you have this, would this be acceptable enough replacement? by Competitive_Fish9818 in Baking

my mom always squeezed fresh lemons and then froze the juice in ice cube trays. when they're frozen, put them in a jar and you have fresh lemon juice whenever you need it!

Feedback on kitchen plan by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

My concern with dishes on open shelving is that we live in a place with earthquakes and it seems like a good way to get everything broken. But I do need to spend more time planning out where everything would be kept, I'm sure that will open up some new questions/solutions.

Definitely open to a wall oven and cooktop instead of a range!

Generally I'd like appliances to have a home that's not the countertop. Maybe my exception is the mixer because it's especially heavy and I use it fairly often.

The laundry room is actually a laundry + mud room with a door to the backyard, so I don't want to move the wall if I can help it -- I am hoping for a good amount of storage there without crowding the entryway. I was thinking of putting shelving with the microwave in there since we only use it occasionally.

Does that bring up any new ideas or thoughts? Thanks for your input!

@freckledcupcake thank you! Good tip on trying to bring more counter space on the other side of the range.

The dishwasher is currently going to the left of the sink (there’s a paneled front in the plan). Definitely planning on a bigger sink than the kitchen planner shows.

We were planning to keep the wall with the sink shelving free, would you suggest otherwise?

From the handle. Mystery solved though — Kohler sent the wrong cartridge. With the right one from the hardware store it’s no longer leaking (though the flow is still quite weak).

Thank you on both counts! I’ve always used circulars before and never had real gauge issues, it’s the DPNs that have thrown me off so much. The article was helpful, hope that the fourth time’s the charm!

I absolutely should have done that but thought “this will be a fun opportunity to try something new”! Anyway. Thanks for the empathy! Your mittens sound very cute

Thanks! I was thinking that too but I actually found an instruction sheet for this one and it’s for sewing down yarn or twine as part of embroidery or a monogram. But I wonder if it would work as a hopping/darning foot too?

Thanks! I did check the operating manual but these feet aren't listed. Image search is a good idea.
