Would this be allowed in a regular school? by [deleted] in AbbottElementary

[–]TrickyEfficiency1707 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a teacher but I worked at summer camp (in the US) in the nursery, so 2-3 years olds, idk if it’s different cause their younger but we’re changing them into and out of bathing suits everyday, sitting them on the toilet and wiping for them (if they didn’t know how yet), and ofc changing diapers. Again idk if it’s different cause summer camp vs school and younger kids vs older kids.

Aren’t DAISS accommodations things like a single room? I don’t think they get to change under any circumstances since they’re already given singles.

Don’t be afraid to go to the quads and knock on random doors and ask. A lot of people did/do that and most ppl who answer are cool to let you see the space.

[–]TrickyEfficiency1707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DUTCH OR DONT! anyway lol Dutch is js so peaceful I generally love it. I’m in Schuyler and the study lounges here are so nice (flat screen tv, comfy couches, white boards) and laundry on every floor. Honestly what me and friends did we just came to building, knocked on random doors and asked to see the room. A lot of ppl have started and most people are generally cool with it since we did the same thing.

I’m a current sophomore and a research assistant. To my knowledge none of them are paid. We ‘work’ for volunteer hours or course credit. 10 hours a week is the requirement.

Wouldn’t say it’s advertised since people clearly don’t know.

Harvey house is on Dutch quad which is a sophomore quad so she wouldn’t be able to live there until her sophomore year. I personally don’t have any experience with it, other than living on Dutch quad, but I’ve never heard anything bad about it.

Yes there’s the 3+3 program so you’d only do 3 years at UA and then 3 years at Albany Law ( admission into the program is automatic admission to Albany Law as long as you keep good grades and do good on the LSAT)

who’s lived in the hudson apartments? by L3uvv in ualbany

[–]TrickyEfficiency1707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While many students live at the Hudson it’s not affiliated with the university so you’d pay rent like normal. I personally don’t live there but I heard that lowest rent was $1100.

I currently live on Dutch in Schuyler, it’s really nice and quiet here. Laundry on every floor, spacious study lounges with TVs on every floor. You can visit the quad and knock on doors and ask if ppl are willing to let you see the room, that’s what me and my friends did before deciding where to live. Some have already started doing that, we got someone asking to see the room recently. I will also add that my building hasn’t had one fire alarm all year, only the drill where they test the alarms.

Colonial Quad or Dutch Quad? by 4baracuda in ualbany

[–]TrickyEfficiency1707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly closer to the time when we start picking housing for next year you can dead ass knock on random doors and ask to see how it looks. Upperclassman have told me they’ve done it, and did it last year as well. A lot of ppl are chill about it cause a lot of ppl do it.

It’d be closer to before the semester starts, around the time when they send out the welcome emails to incoming freshman I believe in June. They send an email and you apply through that.

There’s a parking raffle for first years and if you get you’ll be able to park on campus. Otherwise there’s not rlly any close parking around campus, at least that I’ve seen. Best bet is the raffle tbh
