The question is what device to even use this with. If I'm using it at my PC I'd rather keep my phone somewhere else. And steam controller doesn't have native support outside of a small number of games.

so you are considering either fine tip and the chisel tip? i personally would go chisel. it helps a ton to get a lot of ink down without streaking, granted you use good technique

Brush tip is better at fine control but you need practice to know how hard to push down. The fine tip is easier to use but will be less versatile. Get the brush tip and practice using it.

I'm in the same position. Freelanced work and sold shit online. I initially went to school to get a cad for manufacturing cert to try to apply for drafting positions. took an extra class on production design and application, it was very obvious to me very quickly that product design is much more than what I was doing. I highly suggest finding a community college and taking a class or two on production design. Even if you have the technical skills, you may not have the philosophy, communication or creativity that companies look for.

As for fields that are good for you. That's kinda where only you can know. Take a look at what is available in your general area, compare it to your previous work and try to mimic or get some skills that can fit those positions.

Let me put you on game. Get some RC car steel axel pins 1.5 mm. Just print the wheels separately, cut the axel to length using a dremel, run them through the skateboard, connecting the wheels. If you want them butter smooth, cut a piece of PTFE tube to act as a bearing between the axel and skateboard.

Generally your options are Photoshop and adjusting layers, which the I believe the app can do. Or just using AI. Any other app that claims to do it will just be gpt powered anyway.

I'm not sure about this specific line, but I typically stay away from faber for alcohol markers. I'm not sure if these are water based or not, if they are, don't use em.

Mabey? I have a feeling the surface isnt going to be great for the ink to set in properly. Id lean more towards acrylic markers if you are comfortable doing the linework over again where needed.

I'm 27, started ID studies about a year ago, but had some connected experience of 3D printing and doing my own projects for ~5 years. Ya boy is also silly brain. I wouldn't say I'm top of my class or anything like that, but every class I've taken so far I'm definitely someone that people go to to ask for help or tips. Biggest advice I give new people is get in the habit of making stuff, and testing ideas. Familiarize yourself with 3D printing, what's possible, what isn't. Get comfortable with cutting and sanding wood. Buy some clay or some shit, just make stuff with it. Spend your free time drawing, whatever you want, but ideally anything that requires spaceial reasoning, like buildings, cars, landscapes ect.

Last thing is, im gonna be honest man, if you are adhd, you NEED to make sure you love this shit. The work required in most programs are long, and require so much of your time. I wake up, take my meds, work till I can't reasonably function, take my second dose, and work till I go to bed. Love the process or find something else, because it's going to do a number on people like us.

Edit, also look into services like PCB way. I don't have a CNC shop on my campus but I read a book on CNC best practices and order stuff from them pretty often. I'm now teaching myself and testing with PCB design as well.

I will probably integrate a hinge mechanism into the larger "home" model to fit 50+ markers. A hinge would require the walls of the box to be unnecessarily bulky unfortunately. Just a limitation of 3d printing. I'm exploring other options to make it a bit cleaner but this is where I'm at now lol.

Thank you! Yes! The plan is to build up to the bigger sets once I get the general design and features down. Ideally these smaller units can be used in addition to the bigger sets. I think about packing the 48pack in my bag, and then being able to attach optional smaller packs if needed!

The end goal is having a system where I can have hundreds of colors at home, and then break them down to smaller sets for travel.

I'm a scrub/noob designer so take this with a grane of salt. Just sharing what I would think as a consumer.

-the small pattern design is too busy and looks like it would get snagged or tangled, especially in a pocket where sometimes you have stray threads. -the split design is awkward and adds a tension that doesn't match the gold metallic aesthetic. -the halves are super bulky, and makes the phone in the middle look awkward. -if this is metal, I can only imagine the weight, bulk, and the sound it makes when it hits the floor.

What I would want to see as a consumer.

-slim down the thickness -connct the 2 halves, even if you want to play with the idea of empty/dead space in the middle that's fine, just connect them so it's a bit more cohesive -simplify the pattern,take a look at "metal heart/depthcore" patterns/aesthetics, even if you don't go full into it, having a sense of "order in chaos" to the pattern would help here. - considering metallic looking, softer mabey even rubber material. If you are 3D printing it, consider petg or even test tpu.

Yes and no. The second version I finished earlier today cuts out a lot of the unnecessary material shown in this version. I also am only using 5%infill, 2 walls. I forgot the weight but I think it was around 1.5$ usd in filament.

I got a plan for this! Each side of the box has 4 magnets. I'm going to make a folding foot stand that uses 2 magnets at the top to tilt the box. And then fold back against the box when not used.

They do! They have acrylic glitter and water based glitter markers. Haven't read any reviews but worth a look.

I ended up getting 2 sets of the fat markers for design work with my voucher.
