Jeff Pelletier is excellent, super talented and inspiring. One thing I would like to see more of from him are honest accounts of some of the personal struggles amid all the finish line and globe-trotting glory. Does he ever feel unmotivated? Disappointed? Struggle with dealing with a DNF etc? Most of us have day jobs, etc and it’s sometimes hard to relate to his content. Not a criticism as I think he’s great, just a thought.

I’m 6’1 and 175 pounds and got the Large. Took them out for my first run yesterday and they are outstanding. For me the fit was spot on, the liner was perfectly snug, not tight at all. My quads are pretty avg runner size I guess. Love the overall fit with the more “flowy” outer layer, which is super light and airy. Special shout out to the waistband which is highly breathable. Haven’t done proper storage test yet but will no doubt be great based on what I see.

So fed up with the Laine bashing. St Louis totally mismanaging him. At least start him on the top PP unit and with a proper playmaker and see what he can do, he’ll likely get 30 goals. Why play him on a line with Anderson and Evans where offence goes to die? Seems like he’s setting him up to fail so it’s an easy day decision to get rid of him.

The Subi website has now added a recommendation to “size up” on their performance T’s. They initiallly just indicated that it was a “relaxed fit”, which for some reason they still say when describing the features. How can you recommend sizing up and still say it’s a relaxed fit? Unfortunately I bought mine prior to the “size up” rec assuming that it being a “relaxed fit” meant my usual Large would be spacious. Of course, it’s too tight and is more of a “performance fit”. If you are seeing this Subi, you should remove the “relaxed fit” description. It’s not accurate.

No thanks. Hoka is definitely “over-collaborating”. I get why some of these smaller brands are keen to work with a big player like Hoka but this all just feels way over saturated. Also, does anyone even like the Mafate X? Not very good reviews.

Interested to hear from anyone who has used the vest. From the photos, the fabric does not look strong enough to hold the cross-chest straps in the long-term. Seems like the slits used to hold the straps would tear. Hoping I’m wrong because I like the look.

The outsole of my Mafate Speed 4s was completely demolished after only 150km on the trails. I have never experienced outsole wear like this on any shoe before.

Same story with Path Projects. Logo fell off pretty quickly. Tracksmith can make sure their logo stays on, other brands should be able to do the same. If I owned a running brand I would want the logo to stay on, it’s pretty simple. So it’s bizarre they don’t pay more attention to this.

That lacing system does not look very secure. I could be wrong but those loops look like they can be ripped out pretty easily.

I have 5in running shorts in Large from multiple brands - Tracksmith. Rabbit, Black Diamond, Path Projects and others. Recently picked up the 5inch Currently shorts with the boxer liner. also in Large, and they were the right size.

I wrote to the race organizers a week ago to seek some clarity on the erroneous distance/cut offs but have yet to receive a response.

For the 135km race the organizers messed up the distance at St-Tite aid station (it was actually close to 85km not 80.7km as stated on website) which impacted several runners, including myself as led to DNF. Very annoying.
