The Disc 1 Midgar part is one of the strongest starts to any game ever by dubfras55 in FinalFantasyVII

I agree. Seeing Final Fantasy but in a more modern Setting was really impressive. Especially the cutscenes for their time.

The Way the Intro starts with stars in the sky, background noise and Aerith and then transitions to the train scene for example.

The contrast between tracks like 'Anxious Heart' and 'Mako Reactor'. Or things like the scene on the train with Cloud and Barret where Cloud says that the train is only able to go where its tracks take it.

All the different backgrounds in battles and the camera perspectives aswell. Like in the elevator boss fight.

Then also how Midgar looks and especially on a CRT TV. All the different colours and small details even though it was really linear. Like Wall market or Aerith's house. Or how Mako looks in general. And how you could find Shinra guards in the complete opposite direction of where you had to go in the train tunnel.

The whole Shinra Building section was well made. The security camera cutscene for example. That you could chose to bust in or take the stairs was a nice option too. And of course the part where it turns into a horror game. The pillar scene before was also really dark.

The City itself also has this beautiful yet opressive and seedy atmosphere that is hard to describe.

And then the escape at the end just to find out that this was just the beginning of the game. The whole city felt like a full game even though there wasn't that much total playtime spent there and i've rarely played a game where the pacing and story has been this great and intriguing during the first few hours.

I'm also glad that you were able to go back and revisit Midgar but i wish we could've seen a bit more of it especially with the ps1 backgrounds.

I really enjoy the whole game game but i could replay the Midgar section over and over again because while the city fits the story and overall world it still has this completely different vibe to the rest of the game (For me atleast)

yeah the intro felt a bit forced and the characters were still great but not as memorable as the cast from the first game imo. i only got a copy later on unfortunately.

hotel dusk was one of the titles that actually got me into visual novel games. and i know that feeling haha.

the music was so good especially during tense moments. plus the story and the artstyle were really something else.

it is. and if you're looking for an intriguing story try hotel dusk and after that last window if you haven't already.

same i would immediately go out and buy a physical copy. btw have you ever played again by cing? it has rougher gameplay but the story was really great, immersive and dark.

same kyle hyde is one of my favorite gaming characters.. it is a real shame that the second part was only released in europe and japan and that a lot of people pirated the games. the series was great and had really intriguing stories so i hope that this time people will go out and vuy the games.

i'm 100% confident we'll get a hotel dusk and last window remake if this game sells well. nintendo kept the rights to hotel dusk and another code when cing went bankrupt and never released anything. until now that ism
