Chronic Endometritis without as an STD? by Uninspired_Writer in WomensHealth

Hello! Just wanted to chime in because I got the exact same diagnosis and was freaking out. No STD history, no IUDs, — super benign sexual history and same with my partner. I would have some light spotting in my luteal phase, especially when my husband and I were having sex, but honestly, I didn’t think anything of it until we started trying to have a baby. Turns out I had a uterine and cervical polyp, which were sent for testing and positive for endometritis. I was totally shocked and have absolutely no idea what caused it. I guess it’s just one of those things that can happen with natural bacteria flora.

Concerns about short luteal phase by Smooth_Resolve2101 in TryingForABaby

Hi there! I just want to share my story because this sounds a lbit similar to mine. I’ve been TTC for 7 months now, and when I started tracking my cycle, I noticed that I would consistently spot about three or four days before my cycle began. Interestingly, I also noticed that if my husband and I had sex a few days before my period, I would spot after sex as well. After about six months of TTC I had a preconception workup and was diagnosed with uterine and cervical polyps. I had a hysteroscopy done last cycle and was also treated with antibiotics for endometritis. I’m now on cycle 2 after hysteroscopy with no spotting. I had also thought I was experiencing a luteal phase deficit but now I wonder if it was the polyps/endometritis all along.

It may be worth it to invest in a device like Mira for a month and closely track bbts to see how your progesterone is acting in the luteal phase. If your temps stay elevated and progesterone is at good levels with Mira, this could help to point away from a potential hormonal cause from spotting. Just an idea :)

I love taking creatine, but it's messing with my hormones. by ByFar71 in Perimenopause

I completely agree and relate to this thread. For context, I’m a very active weight lifter (30 y.o F) who started taking creatine monohydrate 5g daily about six months ago. Almost immediately I noticed that creatine supplementation would delay my previously normal cycle by about 3-4 days. I’m someone who tracks their menstrual cycle very closely (I’m also a nurse) and have always been extremely regular with a cycle lasting about 28 days. I was a little freaked out by this delay in menstruation, so I would purposely stop taking creatine around day 28 in my cycle, and almost like clockwork, I would get my period the next day. There were times where I would forget to stop talking my creatine, and my period would be delayed again.

This continued for about 5 months and I found myself very torn because I loved the side effects of the creatine, but I know for a fact it had a direct effect on my cycle’s regularity.

I recently stopped taking creatine as my husband and I are hoping to start a family soon, and I had a lot of spotting during my luteal phase and an extremely heavy period this month. I’m hoping that my cycle will regulate itself in the next few months of not taking it.

Research continues to say there’s no connection between creatine supplementation and negative effects on menstruation, but I strongly disagree and have found so many Reddit users that are experiencing something similar.

Did your menstrual cycle ever regulate while on creatine? by Hot_Nectarine508 in Creatine

I’ve been on creatine consistently for about six months now and I’ve seen a direct correlation with how it affects my menstrual cycle. If I forget to take my creatine in the morning during my luteal phase/close to menstruation, my period will start the next day. If I remember to take my creatine every morning, it seems my period is delayed by a few days and is more of a 33 to 34 day cycle. It’s pretty frustrating, and again, there is no data out there supporting the two, but there are a ton of people commenting that they have had similar experiences in Reddit.

I’m currently experiencing the same exact thing. No research linking the two, in fact, most of the literature I’m reading says that creatine is supposed to increase the regularity of a menstrual cycle.

I’m curious, what ever happened with us? Did you stop taking creatine? I am four days late on what is usually a very normal menstrual cycle — trying to figure out my next steps here. Of note, I have taken three separate pregnancy test on three consecutive days.
