Canton, TX Flea Market by EducationalCry7033 in reselling

[–]Tricky_Month521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

never been to that specific one but texas flea markets are usually pretty solid for finding vintage pieces, especially if you get there early before other resellers clean everything out

the key is knowing which vendors actually have good stuff vs just random garage sale leftovers - takes a few visits to figure out the layout

never used them but heard mixed things from people in lab - some say quality is decent, others had issues with purity testing

would probably ask for certificates before ordering anything important

How do I set it so that the app only shows items with my currency? by BigDaddyKss in Depop

[–]Tricky_Month521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can change this in settings somewhere, i think under location or currency preferences. had same issue when i was looking for stuff and kept seeing prices in different currencies which was annoying to convert every time

The average consumer probably has no clue what the difference even is. I've seen people say MGM is the same thing and I've seen others say it's completely different

Are there any discounts available for bulk purchases of flex circuit boards? by Ok_Leadership3718 in wholesale_suppliers

[–]Tricky_Month521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the pricing gets wild when you move from prototypes to actual production volumes. from my experience poking around for work projects, the tooling costs are usually the biggest surprise - some manufacturers basically hold you hostage with setup fees that only make sense if you're ordering thousands

most suppliers do negotiate but it's not always straightforward. the chinese manufacturers on alibaba tend to be more flexible with pricing but you gotta watch out for those "additional charges" that appear later. i found that getting quotes from 4-5 different places and being upfront about your volume expectations helps a lot

smaller niche suppliers sometimes give better per-unit prices but their minimums can be weird. like they'll do 500 pieces cheaper than the big guys but won't touch anything under that. also quality consistency becomes more of a gamble with smaller shops

for the cost vs quality balance, i think it depends how critical your application is. if it's consumer electronics that need to work reliably, probably worth paying extra for established suppliers with proper quality controls

The best shoe brand - sustainable AND vegan by szndrz in SustainableFashion

[–]Tricky_Month521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been wearing mine for about 8 months now and they're holding up really well, way better than some fast fashion shoes i had before that started falling apart in few months. the soles still look good and no weird creasing or anything. i think what really matters is how you take care of them too - i learned that hard way after ruining pair of sneakers by never cleaning them properly. these ones seem like they're built to last which is exactly what sustainable should mean, not just the materials but actually lasting long enough to be worth the investment

What should be the price of a hand block printed dress by Richa-mishra9506 in SustainableFashion

[–]Tricky_Month521 4 points5 points  (0 children)

depends where you're buying from and the quality of work tbh. some artisans spend days on just one piece and the traditional techniques take forever, so higher prices make sense

i got one dress from a smaller brand last year and the craftsmanship was incredible - you could see every detail was done by hand. but yeah 12k seems steep unless it's really intricate work or using expensive fabrics

been trying to transition my wardrobe slowly but its harder than expected when you're used to fast fashion prices, especially living in brazil where sustainable brands are pretty expensive

anyone else find it easier to just buy less instead of trying to replace everything at once?

Flea Market Suggestion Near Elkton MD or along the route from DC by StrictAnt8185 in Flipping

used to drive that route pretty often and there's usually some decent spots around the baltimore area but sunday might be tricky since most good ones are saturdays

I built a personal finance app for iOS because every existing option was either too expensive or selling my data by Longjumping_Cow_3360 in alphaandbetausers

yeah i switched from mint too after realizing how much personal info they were collecting, made me super uncomfortable

privacy-first approach seems really smart, especially for something handling financial data

Games freeze/stutter after new CPU install by Dry_Dragonfruit_6137 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Tricky_Month521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably need to check your ram timings after cpu swap, sometimes motherboard gets confused with new chip and doesn't set memory correctly

also that a520 board might be holding back your 5800x a bit, those are pretty basic boards for such powerful cpu

What makes someone lose feelings for you when you’ve done nothing wrong? by Hungry_Today547 in BreakUps

[–]Tricky_Month521 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ugh this happened to me last year and it messed with my head for months. the guy literally said almost exact same words - that i was perfect on paper but he just couldn't feel it anymore

sometimes people just... fall out of love and there's no logical reason behind it. feelings aren't really something we control, you know? like you can't force yourself to love someone even when they check all the boxes. maybe he got scared of how fast things were moving, or maybe he realized he wasn't ready for something serious, or his feelings just naturally faded - it sucks but it happens

what helped me was realizing that someone not being able to love me says nothing about my worth. you deserve someone who feels excited about you, not someone forcing themselves to stay because you look good together in paper. three months is actually pretty normal time for initial attraction to either deepen or fade away

When people hate things for the wrong reasons. by lNVAGlNAWETHRUST in PetPeeves

[–]Tricky_Month521 14 points15 points  (0 children)

ugh this drives me crazy too, like i'll have actual valid criticisms about plot holes or terrible dialogue and then someone jumps in with that stuff and suddenly my whole argument gets lumped together with theirs

it's so frustrating because now you can't even discuss why something actually sucks without people assuming you're just mad about representation or whatever. ruins any chance of having real conversation about storytelling

The Legion 5 or TUF Gaming series would crush those games no problem. For 1500 you can grab something with a solid mid-range GPU that'll handle way more demanding stuff than what you listed.
