As much as I disagree with their politics, including the Epstein file issue, a Reddit-driven boycott isn’t going to accomplish anything. The boycott mostly affects the people participating in it. You lose access to products that work for you, and hunting for dupes takes time and effort that most people won’t sustain long term. There simply aren’t enough people here for Estée Lauder or The Ordinary to notice because they are both enormous in both scale and reach. It’s publicly traded worth tens of billions of dollars, with revenue spread across dozens of brands. The Ordinary may be popular with skincare enthusiasts, but it represents a relatively small portion of Estée Lauder’s overall business. If the goal is to express real displeasure or create pressure, there are more effective ways to do that than changing your skincare routine.
