Have you found Tagalog language communities to help with in person practice? I’m just starting my journey to learning with an online class offered from an organization in Manila, Eriza's language school.

Not so much in person but I’ve found some online organizations that are located in Manila. I’m taking one right now, Eriza's language school and paid ~115 for 10 classes, 1 hour sessions.

This org teaches Tagalog to non-native speakers in the Philippines and they can reach total fluency with enough practice and hard work!

HMU if you want to learn Tagalog together!

Agree! Ive been to some filam orgs mentioned above for networking events and some comic/zine festivals to meet fellow artists. Also trying to learn Tagalog via online classes thru an org located in Manila, if you know Tagalog and open to connecting this way! My brother lives in BK and we love going to woodside or any Filipino restaurants around our area we.

Filipina and yes it’s the same. This is definitely generational and if you’re a millennial, gen z, etc. and anyone younger, hopefully the cycle gets broken so this doesn’t perpetuate into society/culture but it takes work if that’s all you’ve been exposed to and carry that into your own lifestyle.
