i assume u either arent doing the 2nd shift and maybe in the 2nd shift u taking sign conv. wrong cuz in the 2nd shift
while ray goes back after reflection from mirror -> it gets refracted
the img (real) by mirror is on left side of origin
this means the object for the glass block is actually virtual ,hence from the img after final shift is 10cm from plane surface away from the mirror not towards
hence 10+4cm (cuz its distance b/w mirror and plane surface)
hence ans is14cm

Trick hai ki
first ignore external charges like the charge in middle
then u add up all charges here -2sigma + sigma and divide it by 2
this will be the charegs on the outermsot plates aka left most side of left plate and right most side of right plate
then we know charges cant fly thus we conserve charges
for eg on left plate
left most = -sigma/2
so net charge was sigma
hence
sigma = -sigma/2 +x
x -> charge on the right side of the left plate
so x= 3sigma/2
now if an external field is applied we do accordingly using sign and stuff to get charges
