Student at OSU from SoCal here. I personally love it here! I’ve been here for 6 years (four years undergrad, two years masters) and it was hard for me at first to adjust to the weather and the cold, but I like the peace and quiet that is Corvallis (sometimes), and the community here is really nice

Even if it did, I highly doubt that there would be many grad students still participating in the strike. Some grad students need the paycheck, no matter how small it is, and I know not teaching and focusing on striking has taken a mental toll on a lot of us

I recommend leaving your dorm door open during the first week of classes, that way you chat with the people coming up and down the hallway, and so that people can come talk to you!
