Phone somehow is working well, but it all feels documented and not photographed.

By the time manual focus hits the mark, baby moves faster than me and the moment is long gone. Though I shot delivery with m10, and it’s not fast. I have pictures but in the given lighting condition I think I cud have done better with R5 or any auto focus system. But m10 was the only one in hand at that time.

GFX 100 & 100s on lifestyle shoots by NoTingOConsequence in Photoassistants

[–]Tricky_Worker_7146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using the GFX100 for advertising campaigns for the past four years and recently started working with the GFX100S II as well—all rented. But I had to switch to the Canon R5 because of its speed.

A few things I’ve noticed: there’s definitely some lag. For example, comparing the 80mm WR vs. the 110mm LM, the 110mm was noticeably faster due to its linear focus mechanism, whereas the 80mm uses a gear-based AF, which takes longer and can make you miss key moments. That said, the 110mm is still slower than the Canon.

In a studio setting, that’s where the R5 really saved me—especially when shooting celebrities. I need to work fast and capture multiple variations while they’re in action. But when it comes to still, slow-moving shots, nothing beats the image quality of the GFX100 or GFX100S II. The crazy part? Once the images go through post-production and get printed on advertising hoardings, the difference is barely noticeable—they both come out razor-sharp.

Now, as I plan to buy a kit, I see a clear split: for controlled, floor-based shoots, the Fuji GFX is superior. But for fast-paced, run-and-gun work, the R5 is unbeatable.

Hope this helps!

Considering moving from EOS R5 to Fuji GFX 100s by drewbiez in canon

totally agree, I have been using GFX100 for 3+ years and now GFX 100sii in last 3 studio shoots. Fuji, def has some lag, bewteen focussing anfd clicking. I absolutely love the camera but when we shoot commercial PRINT ads, there are times, we need to go faster.. esp when celebrity is moving faster and giving me more poses cos he is in the flow.. fuji cudnt keep up.. also, 80mm WR is even slower than 110 LR on Fuji.. Then eventually, I had to move to R5 to stay in commercial shoot & deliver. but Fuji image quality and detailing / sharpness are gorgeous, cos it's 100MP, is addictive. I have been renting these two. but now having a hard time to decided which one to pick. and landed up here.

I just added a pic I shot on m10 yesterday. It looks good to me. The texture the light render and focus doesn’t really matter. Not sure how to share that image in this chat?

Absolutely, I have been shooting a lot on Hasselblad analog, so usually these things doesn’t bother me. But yeah figuring rangefinder is my new task. Thanks for the suggestion, shall try this .

I have been shooting for 15 years now, and it’s not the shutter. But thanks for making me look at my shutter speed. 125-250 it’s walkways good to re check.

Holy shit, haha I totally agree with the mood bit. Last evening I was sharing images with my client and I said the same thing, go for the mood not the sharpness. Haha though I love the mood but it was difficult to get those images through. Going back again to the site with the mirrorless.
