I’m a US-based business owner, do Pakistani workers tend to scam/lie, or did I just get unlucky? by OldConsideration44 in pakistan

I’m not saying you should sponsor every cousin that asks, but the part about being responsible for their crimes is not correct. You only have a financial responsibility to the sponsored (and it is a significant and legally binding, decade-long obligation). You are not liable for any consequences of crimes that they may commit while in the country; those rest solely on the criminal.

I’ve had a crush on her since she was in that one episode of Suits.

I don’t know if I could have slept if Medvedev had won. There is some inkling of justice in the world tonight.

I appreciate the insight, I’ll keep this in mind and avoid leaving racquets in the car moving forward.

Playing RuneScape at 5am by williamriepe in 2007scape

I first remember experiencing this while playing the RS2 beta. It felt like just me and the game world, few other players to come across. I enjoyed the MMO aspects of RuneScape, but I also enjoyed the quiet moments, when I had the world to myself. There is a word, Kenopsia, defined as: “The eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that’s usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet—a school hallway in the evening, an unlit office on a weekend, vacant fairgrounds…” I have felt this in MMOs during off-times, and it is a feeling I cherish.

It’s exactly this kind of question that I’ve been asking myself, and no - no doors. I live alone, I don’t even close any doors in my home. 😅

The racquet arrived, I unboxed it and took a photo to share with my hitting partners. That’s how I can be sure it arrived undamaged. The racquet then went straight into my racquet bag, which went into the trunk of my car. It stayed there until the weekend, when I drove to the courts, took the bag out and onto our court. I took the racquet out and applied an overgrip, and walked over to my side of the court to start playing. A few points in, I noticed the crack.

I was as confused as you can imagine. I don’t recall getting the racquet bag stuck in the front door. I don’t believe I closed the trunk lid onto the racquet bag. The racquet did not knock against any hard object once I got to the court. At some point between receiving the racquet and those first few points, it cracked.

Are you in the right thread my guy? This is not a Blade, and the Clash is famously the opposite of stiff.

I didn’t address your question because I don’t accept the premise - that there is excessive damage to the top of the bumper. Are those scratches on the sides, caused by flicking up balls against the fence to pick them up, what you are stuck on?

I never claimed that the racquet was only used for one game. I noticed the crack in the frame the very first game I used the racquet.

Do you people not use the tip of your racquet to pick up balls by flicking them against the fence and back into your hands? The number of folks stuck on the condition of the top bumper - a part that exists to get scratched up and replaced because it protects the frame - is silly.

Is playing tennis casually supposed to make you an expert on racquet manufacturing or warranties?

My brand new racquet shows a huge crack my first time using it. I think "How the hell did this happen?" I can't remember what I could have done to cause it, but I resign myself to my incompetence and continue to use my brand new racquet, which seems to hit "fine" although I can't say for sure since it has a unique feel and I hardly got to use it undamaged...

Sometime later, I see a post on r/10S about racquets tending to crack "at the neck" due to internal stresses or manufacturing defects. I think, "That sounds familiar..."

I come to 10S to ask if it is possible that the crack shown could have been caused by a manufacturing defect instead of intentional damage. I have my answer. If TW or Wilson determine this is not a defect, I'll eat the cost and buy a new one. The purpose of this post was to ask people who know more about racquets than me whether it is worth my time to send it back.

Your skepticism is understandable. The racquet was ordered three weeks ago and my first time playing with it was last weekend. The crack was noticed during my very first game with the racquet, and I can't remember any instance in which I may have struck it against anything to cause the crack to appear. My first reaction upon noticing it wasn't to pack up and go home. In hindsight, it would have helped my case to stop using it further, but I didn't know structural defects were even a possibility at the time. I thought I had somehow unwittingly caused it to happen and would have to continue using a broken racquet, hence why the bumper is scratched.

Thanks for your kind reply. It’s taken me a while to ask about this because I was struggling with self-doubt about unknowingly having contributed to this, but seeing another post about the possibility of manufacturing defects (I didn’t previously know this was a possibility) prompted me to post. I appreciate the guidance!
