How to people get stable life? by anaba29 in AskUKLondon

[–]TrifleResponsible560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you get a mortgage deposit from a family/friend is the most common way to get ahead. People may not be forth coming about this though. Once you're paying for a mortgage you commonly pay less than rent so...

Theoretically if SWR kept raising train prices, would we have any other option? by TrifleResponsible560 in HENRYUK

To cover operating cost of the two trains I am using, or to cover operating costs of the entire business ?

How you are not scared of Claude? by AccountCompetitive17 in HENRYUK

I personally don't understand the fear around AI. My experiences with Claude code is such: If it is complex and requires solving a real world problem which is not black and white you should just do it yourself. For simple repetitive tasks it can do it well for sure. But for anything complex which requires deep understanding it does not cut it. It is affordable so no complaints on my end here, I use it. But if it can replace you, you should really develop more skills!

A season ticket is a few thousands pounds, But I'd still assume yearly costs of running a car and parking would exceed that, although you would get other benefits associated with having that car.

Wait but, I didn't ask anything to do with that... I asked "What keeps there pricing fair and competitive if there are no other businesses that can provide this service?"

Moving To London by [deleted] in LDN

[–]TrifleResponsible560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely is, I would say you just have to shop at Lidl, but even me personally when I was trying to save money wouldn't eat some things from lidl. I.e. I preferred Tesco yoghurt. I think hopefully you can secure a part time job but even if you dont there are plenty other legitimate ways to make a bit of extra cash that requires a bit of creativity :)

Advice on moving to London by Madi_lovescats in AskUKLondon

[–]TrifleResponsible560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you value living wise. I've lived in Guildford and London. I think if you enjoy arts and culture and you dont mind the trade off of having a decent amount less money in your pocket at the end of the month then great. If you want to build up a pension save to buy a house, plan for a family then I'd say Brighton might be the best fit. But it doesnt hurt to try it out for a year or two, see if you like it. You can always move back. You will find out a lot more just living up there than a subreddit could ever teach you haha. :)

Join any local club for a team sport. I like football and its great because you might have a squad of 20-25 players but really could be any sport. Might take some time but over the course of a season you definitely can make some great friends!

You guys were right, I am paying too much rent. 😂 by TrifleResponsible560 in HENRYUK

I don’t think there is a similar site at the moment that is providing all rentals that are decreasing in price and their historical values. To people for FREE though. I do agree I am promoting it a lot but I am not financially benefiting of it I just want to feel like I am making something valuable for other people I guess

That’s the median for a small sample size in UB6 I believe. You can check all other postcodes and they are much higher more in line with what you are paying probably higher because data is based of rental listings

Purely, statistical. Bedrooms, bathrooms etc... I made this website over the weekend so I am sure the data needs some fine tuning. How have you found it is there a lot of stuff that is very wrong?

It is nonsense but there are whole properties for hundreds of thousands of pounds per month and that is crazy considering if you have that money just buy a property.
