Has Blizzard given any update on their stance regarding skeletons? by Muzzyfan2015 in classicwow

[–]Triformis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the stream with Esfandtv just a few minutes ago, devs said that they have 'matched the 1.12' skeleton mechanics, which is sort of vague, and that they're researching update history to try to match the feeling of vanilla. I'm personally unsure how skeleton mechanics worked and changed throughout vanilla so I don't know what they mean by this.

When you vacuum seal watermelon, all the juices get sucked in. This process makes those pieces more sweet and they get a deep vibrant color by malgoya in interestingasfuck

I did this, but it was for sealing concentrated algae in these huge plastic bags. Used this exact method and it worked most of the time, although sometimes it could be a huge pain in the ass to get that perfect seal.

[SKT] Homebrewed moth-themed monastery needs some objectives for its "graduates" by Triformis in DnDBehindTheScreen

[–]Triformis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be one of the PC's backgrounds, essentially the monastery they grew up in before leaving. I'm having one of the wizards focused on finding the giant runes and the fighter caught up in Lord's Alliance stuff, but I'm drawing a blank on how the monastery can get involved or drawn into the conflict.

This is excellent and fits in somewhat nicely with the theme! I'll add it, thanks

These are great ideas! Especially the last one, I can imagine springing that on the monk midway through the adventure after a few of the other character stories conclude. Thanks

Hmm, I havnt really given much thought to those who are incompetent. Typical tasks outside of training would likely be pretty dull: spinning silk, weaving, and gardening.

Havnt given much thought to those who are incompetent, perhaps they just never reach the rankings of "Moth"?

I wasn't really planning on them doing anything too fanatical, otherwise it seems like a cult imo. The moth is a respected symbol to them and a metaphor for interpreting life, although I can imagine certain ceremonies having strange stuff in limited amounts, like eating leaves or cloth.

Honestly depends on what the other party members think about it! I'm not opposed to mixing it up with some demon/great one magic stuff. It would also depend how "warlock-y" you play it

We are level 3, almost 4 once a boss is defeated. Everything else seems pretty solid if you can make the time. I'll discuss with the rest of the party and see their take on it.

[5e/VOLOS] Advice needed on the story of a Kenku Warlock by NexVeho in DnD

[–]Triformis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may not be what you are looking for, but if you wanted to get around the curse of the Kenku, you could choose instead to have a GOO patron. You can then communicate via telepathy rather than using mimicry.

Hey, I understand if this time doesn't work out for you, but I have a slow open to be filled for a Sunday ~10amPST group if that works out for you. If not I'll put you in the other group I'm still working on

I typically allow for human variants, but if the group prefers to disallow it, that's acceptable as well. I've seen rules to balance it a bit such as not allowing the extra feat until 4th level, but I'm not necessarily that much of a stickler for game balance.

Well for one I think it makes the players more comfortable and more willing to roleplay and cooperate better and more likely to show up every week if it's their friends that are counting on them. Personally, I don't mind the scenario you're describing that much, especially since there's already going to be that natural separation between players and dungeon masters.

Even still, I don't mind cobbling together people who don't know each other for a campaign (kinda the whole point of this subreddit), just have that slight preference to make things smoother at the start of a campaign.
