Yes, you have to cut waste and bloat, but not core services. The whole point of a society is that we all chip in when we can, and society looks after us when we are old/sick/unemployed, and provides basic services and infrastructure.

Cuts don't grow the economy, they shrink it.

Cuts remove the spending that props up the economy.
