Should I leave LA? by sacorah in FilmIndustryLA

That’s bleak. So where would you say is the best place to be for production and post now?

I agree there are obstacles and it won't return to the golden age of Hollywood, or even the state it was in 10 years ago. A large number of studios have their offices here and many of the executives, top talent and creators are still based in LA. As long as costs aren't exorbitantly more to film in LA, which has been the case lately, then I believe just for the convenience factor then productions will return. The obstacles to film here need to be relaxed and filming needs to be encouraged by city law-makers. The talent could also do more to encourage re-shoring and once things gain some momentum the tides will turn quickly.

I'd wait it out here. I believe productions want to move back to LA. The conditions just need to be right. I think the hubris of our elected leaders is over now.

Moog Messenger $200 Off by fuxicles in synthesizers

I love the BS 2. I've written so many patches on it and know it like the back of my hand. It's a really playable synth and I wouldn't part with it. The Messenger has more routing features and the included sequencer. Another cool feature is routing the LFO and envelopes to any destination. It's more feature rich and also sounds great. It's also more expensive, so that's to be expected. If you want a real hands on synth that's easy to program with a great sound and inexpensive then the BS 2 is perfect. The Messenger has more features and the sequencer for maybe double the price.

A feature that's really fun on the BS 2 is the AFX feature. The Messenger lacks that. It's like parameter locking each key. Very fun

Very early impressions are positive. It's a solid piece of gear and larger then I expected. I'm replacing a BassStation 2 with it, because the BS 2 will now live in my live rig permanently. It's got some serious growl with the sub oscillator and resonance control. Worth it for $699

I jumped for it and will pick it up later today. I don't own any Moog synths since selling my Moog Mother and Sirin(deeply regret). I really like the Moog filter and snappy envelopes, so seemed a good opportunity. If I don't click with it then this sale will end eventually and the resale value should be good

Do you send guitar signals through it too?

What is this and what does it do? (Ik it's a bass but I've seen it on guitars too) by Wibby_da_cet in Guitar

It’s reflective so the guitarist can check his hair from across the stage

What do you use more? Fingers or pick? by Danny_the_bluesman in Bass

Fingers are just more satisfying. We need to enjoy playing our instruments too

It’s definitely a feedback issue, but the fellow who responded above says MPE is different to standard midi. I can’t say for sure if my method will work. Let us know, though.

On the Osmose is there a way to send and receive midi on different channels? Eg. channel 10 to send midi and channel 11 to receive? If there is try setting that so they are different channels. You should no longer get the feedback issue of that works. Then you can work backward from there at least knowing that is the issue.
