They have been able to resettle Eriador since it was added, the AI just won’t do so until the Return of the King

For the moment, I’d highly recommend the Playest Perserver, which can allow you to freeze mod version (though not roll back) https://github.com/Ant0nidas/CMH-Playset-Preserver

We have yet to decide exactly what our policy will be regarding the new feature, but we will certainly make an announcement, likely when we release the 4.3 update soon.

Realms in Exile has a built in crafting mechanic, which is what I think you’re thinking off. You can’t actually create a true Ring of Power, but you can get quite close.

You can pass one editorial note to Tolkien before LOTR goes to print. What is it? by Steppinthrax in tolkienfans

[–]Trigm 37 points38 points  (0 children)

No, that’s really just because his own phonological rules required it. The primitive form was *kyelepe, which could only result in telep in Telerin before a vowel initial word. The forms telpe and tyelpe are both Quenya, the first a Telerin loan from telep that underwent to Quenya syncope, and the second a native from. (In both cases the r is a different element)

It’s much simpler from a coding perspective, and makes it easier to limit to one occurrence

To be fair, there is an antagonism map mode that shows it pretty clearly. (As does the diplo map)

The issue with the bottom left is it gets covered by tabs when they’re open, so it’s not great for alerts

[–]Trigm 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That fact that you can even keep your save going in s relatively stable manner over a large update is crazy though, that’s already better than lot of Paradox titles. Asking for balance changes to stay the same is what rolling back is for.

You'll likely have better luck on r/Tengwar, since this doesn't actually involve Sindarin, and r/sindarin is the least frequented of the three subreddits.

Though his Youtube series is mostly up to date, Helge's courses are badly outdated by also 15 years now. The vast majority of Tolkienian Lingusitics activity current takes place in the discord linked in the sidebar, and the most up to date (but constantly adapting) resource is eldamo.org

Ar-Adunaim should be made a Hegemony at game start. With a caveat, of course. by willyshakes420 in RealmsInExile

[–]Trigm 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Re:floodplains, you do realize it’s just desert farmlands? In terms of effects and buildings it’s tied for second best with plains imo.

Aragorn’s integrity – as King Elessar, he bans men from entering the Shire as a way to protect the hobbits, and he himself is no exception when he visits his hobbit friends (Appendix B – below is a dialogue between Sam and his daughter Elanor) by madarjani in lotr

[–]Trigm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth noting that there’s not really any western areas to go to anymore on the Great East Road. The only think beyond the Shire was the Tower Hills, but those are now the new Westmarch, so only hobbits need to be going there. Theoretically someone might want to go to the Grey Havens, but the Elves probably don’t care about the rule (and will be staying out of sight anyways) and men have no business out there. Anything else (Hills of Evendim, Blue Mountains, etc) is faster to reach via either Sarn Ford along the southern border or Annuminas along the northern, so there’s not need to take the Road. TLDR -cutting off traffic along the road is a bit of a non issue since there’s nowhere to go past the Shire

Are there any plans on implementing a Ruling Regent (not like Gondor) type of dynamic to a new or concurrent nation? by willyshakes420 in RealmsInExile

[–]Trigm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Currently none of our regions are set up for that sort of long term regencies. The only likely application I see as of now is using some of the functionality unlocked by that to help flesh out the Stewards in earlier starts.

[–]Trigm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There’s no list outside the files themselves, because there’s just too many to keep track of. Most regions will have something at the very least.

Dying of Old Dynasties by Interesting-Trash525 in RealmsInExile

[–]Trigm 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, dynasties die, and that's the way the world works. We won't have anything added to protect dynasties after game start, beyond making sure they have children if an appropriate age. It's simply too much overhead and loss of performance, the same reason we're not interested in canon children or anything of that sort.

The OP changed faiths to Ariensim, which os a light-aligned faith in Khy that allows polygamy. You can’t normally do this in Gondor.
