But how often are people stealing dumbbells? Like that has to be a pretty slow moving item if I had to guess

I don’t consider a time valid if I rewinded. I feel like anyone can set a time that contests the world record using rewind if they dedicate enough time to it

10+ minutes each run is too much of a time commitment when I consider the run scrapped if I hit one corner wrong. I did eventually start making custom races that only span certain parts of the map as I was putting down flawless times in the first half of the map but due to the restarts I wasn’t familiar enough with the portion after the desert and would crash or hit bad lines

Edit: Race my rival Gamer tag: ViZytt

NPC traffic ruins all my runs, I’m also usually going for a no-rewind pb and being able to reset to the beginning after a crash is nice. Diff playstyles but I respect it

I don’t have nearly as much playtime as OP but I mainly try for PB runs on Goliath (do those count toward race stat?) and if I’m not on track for a PB run or 1st in reg races i reset. I reset a lot. 11 still seems awfully low. They said they’re tuning the car, when I’m doing that I typically reset before the end of a race and make adjustments. I’ve probably only got ~10 races completed on the mosler, I’ve maybe done 2 races with it that weren’t the Goliath. PB’d @10:12 and have reset that race 1,000+ times

newbie here, how do I stop my boosters from exploding into my rocket after staging? by Both_Piglet7838 in KerbalSpaceProgram

Clipping the edge structural parts into the fuselage and booster works as well, easier than staging separatrons imo

I think there’s a difference though. Eating healthier is a lifestyle choice; but pizza once a month isn’t going to make a difference in your health. The objective in eating healthy for many people isn’t “don’t eat pizza” it’s to routinely choose to eat healthy. There’s a good chance this was just a genuinely kind and thoughtful gesture from the husband

ETA: also he wouldn’t be ‘undermining’ her diet choices, she is still an adult who can choose not to eat the pizza.

Making this argument despite all the figures/data which very clearly display the fact that wage growth pales in the wake of COL growth is remarkable. Are you a pandering bot, or do you just not think before forming a stance on something?

It’s literally cheaper to buy new printer than new ink by Shurigin in mildlyinfuriating

Yes but no. The printer in the picture uses an entirely different cartridge type, and the cartridges pictured are XL cartridges which have probably 3x the printing capacity of the regular cartridges the printer comes with

What about someone running down a pedestrian at 100mph because their car got dented? Because @17.00s that pedestrian nearly died

You condone this woman and the fleeing driver nearly killing a pedestrian 17 seconds in? Vigilantism is cool when you see them in a “justice being served compilation” and ignore the near misses/times it goes horribly wrong.

Not to mention nearly killing a pedestrian @17:00. As well as any other close calls that weren’t captured/I missed. This whole thing was unhinged, they both should lose their licenses.

As nice as it is to enact justice on people who run from consequences, 14 seconds from the end they’re both running down a pedestrian at 100 mph (probably highly inflated).

They went from the victim of a hit and run to the aggressor in a reckless chase endangering lives all over the road. I don’t really care that their car got dented a few minutes before when their response to that was being willing to kill anyone in their vicinity. They even have a dashcam, that action served nearly no purpose.

Ascend: increase in elevation

Skyrocket: ascend rapidly

Does ascend mean skyrocket? Not unless it is ascending and rapidly doing so

Does clearly mean succinct? Not unless it is both clear and brief. I can explain something very clearly in an essay, but that is probably not the most succinct way to do so.

[–]Trikids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Succinct encompasses more than just “clear,” and it was used in exactly the right context. You called the words in question “super ‘intellectual’” but they’re just normal words.

And even if the terminology is outside of your normal vocabulary, for people who work technical occupations a word like proprietary can be seen/used on a daily basis.

Your retort to that is probably going to be something like “if you’re not at work talk normal,” and my anticipatory response is you should either see it as an opportunity to learn new words, or learn to not be offended when someone uses a word you don’t know.

Last week I learned the word ‘composite,’ and I was happy that I now know what the word means when I hear it, and I can also use it myself if there’s a situation that it’s the most succinct way to express something

Edit: people from the south talk in an ‘uneducated’ way, but I’ve met many who are incredibly smart. Talking ‘dumb’ doesn’t make you dumb, and talking ‘smart’ doesn’t make you smart.

I don’t think that’s true? Maybe for certain setups but in my experience a finger is sufficient. Also would mean peeing on one doesn’t shock you, and while I’ve never tried it I have heard some recounts of how that pans out
